The other thing about his statement is his clear gratitude to all of their hate figures ie Potter, Brighton fans, RDZ and our club for giving him the opportunity to play in the PL ‘when no one else did’ ie Chelsea. There is frothing around the mouth on the Shed End already :). Well done on that...
Presumably someone has posted Colwill’s statement ? I can’t be bothered to read back.
The bit that stands out to me is the part where he says to Brighton fans that our continuous support made him play his natural game and not fear making mistakes. It is going to be fascinating to watch...
Indeed. Who is going to watch it ? Domestic football is all that actually matters and that includes the Albion’s Europa League sideshow. Personally I am more proud of our highest league finish than the EL. At the top level it is clear that a group of the super rich are looking to acquire the...
Because we don’t want to do what Leeds did and waste so much time trying to sign a not for sale loan player we disrupt our planning. I just can’t see Tony doing that, especially in such a short summer break. Arsenal also persisted when told no and it didn’t get them anywhere. Works both ways.
He has a contract with Chelsea so it’s not all down to what the player wants. Same with our want away players at various times and also with Ben White. If he wants to leave he will have to bide his time.
This John Doe character is ruining the Levi Colwill discussion with his juvenile insults. I’ve put him on ignore but every other post is him or replies to him. Can he please be removed ? This thread is becoming unreadable.
That’s up to the clubs and players I guess. What is within our control is having the self control to stay away from each other’s forums. Try not to be so needy.
If that’s the deal in its entirety then probably not as we also need to replace Caicedo. This is where it’s difficult for fans to judge as we don’t know the pipeline of replacements. If it’s decent then the Caicedo money can be used to invest further in potential rather than join the arms race.
Fair enough. But same logic applies when we sell. So what’s the valuation for Caicedo and MacAllister ? Deals only happen at ‘market valuation’ if both sides keen to trade. Also, the deals you mention involved foreign clubs keen to benefit from PL riches as their domestic competition does not...
Fans of buying clubs always talk down the price. We’ve been explaining that to fans of Leeds, Chelsea, Arsenal and others for a few years now. If Man City or Newcastle were in for him the price would be north of £50m. I don’t think that’s our model so won’t happen unless we get close to £100m...
It is a great look to the players we want to sign next. The message is clear to the brightest young prospects in the world. Come to Brighton and get game time. We won’t be mugged off (Arsenal/Caicedo in January) but we will sell when the time is right for both parties. It has been explained many...
