Anyone know anything about this?
We need to find out if an extension added to a house we are buying has been approved by Building Control. The seller doesn't seem to know and the only way we've found of checking is by doing a Freedom of Information Request which can take up to 20 working days...

I had the pleasure of attending Leicester Racecourse yesterday and the 14:40 had a horse by the name of Barnhill Brownie, owned by Mr Tony Bloom.
All I can say is that I hope his judgement in running a football club is better than it is at buying horses:
PU Barnhill Brownie (IRE) 11-2 t...
I've been having a quick think about this an I reckon I'll spend between £700 and £800 between now and January 4th when I return to work, including going to Wolves and QPR, petrol costs, presents already purchased etc etc. (Although not including buying loads of food cos I'll be free-loading at...
I know this has been done to death before, but I wasn't interested then and I am now, cos I've got to buy someone a shirt for Xmas. I've looked through until page 13 on here and couldn't find any of the numerous threads on the subject, so I'm gonna have to ask again.
I know the sizes are a bit...
I know this makes me sounds incredibly ignorant of all things Falmer (I do try and keep up to speed but it's hard when you live so far away and can't buy the Argus, etc.) but could someone please just tell me who Andy Horton (or Perseus) is and how he is involved with Falmer?
I know it must be...
I haven't been this upset for a while. Having had a good day at work I decided to buy myself a pack of chocolate coated shortbread biscuits from the vending machine in the canteen, with my last 35p of change. Whilst making my selection, I was distracted by a rather attractive girl from the...
Just got this on text message:
Steve Claridge is unavailable for the away fixture at Upton Park tomorrow as the trip clashes with the 4th Annual Derby and Joan Bridge competition and bric-a-brac sale. Although his place in the West Wittering team could be taken by the less experienced Elsie...
Hi all.
I really need to move back down South, but I'm finding it hard to find anything in Brighton/Hove on the usual job sites that I can do.
Got a (relatively worthless) degree in Politics and Sociology, decent A Levels and 3 years experience in the Financial Services industry (FPC qualified...
Hi all.
Could anyone point me in the right direction for finding information on getting a Visa to work in Oz?
Looked on the internet but couldn't really find what I wanted, just loads of agencies offering work, without telling me what I actually had to do to get a Visa.
Cheers.

This may have been posted before, but, quite frankly, I don't care. This is worth seeing again.
One of the OED definitions of a race is as follows:
"a group of people sharing the same culture, language etc.; an ethnic group"
and racism is defined as follows:
"discrimination against or antagonism towards other races".
If you look at the chav phenomenon on sociological lines, it is...
I miss being able to go to the beach in the summer and sit there all night.
I miss all the brilliant traditional British boozers that you find in the most unexpected places.
I miss being able to walk across Hove Park to the game, watching some poor sod get his head kicked in playing rugby.

Tough one for me, cos I do like the odd trip to Old Trafford and it won't be the same if they're playing 2nd Division cricket.
On the other hand, remembering their smug "we're going to win it" faces when we lost there last year, I think I'd quite like them to go down.
