No worries. People are right to be cynical and it is a hard job figuring what is a genuine comment and what is pure BS for someone to massage their ego.
I only post if I have factual information - hence the low post count!
No BS from me
In my desperation to see if there was any news, I wondered over to the nearby paper shop to have a quick look at the back page of the Argus and this was in a brief article about the players reporting back.
It would be an amazing story indeed.
Sorry to interupt this bin fest but...
A mate of mine has just text me to say he has been told that we are signing him. Not claiming this to be gospel but it does back up the comment on the link to the Southend site.
Hope he is right, he was quality down here this season.
Hasn't Poyet said he sees Cox playing more centrally?
I've always felt that Cox was a central midfielder trapped in the body of a 12 year old winger.
If we continue to play 451, I would expect to see Cox come in and play as one of the central 3 if one of Dicker, Crofts or Navarro gets injured.
Couldn't agree more. Away teams will, in general, put 8/9 men behind the ball and deny space. This is particularly effective at Withdean as the pitch is narrow. We are not good enough yet to consistently pass and move our way through a packed midfield and all our forwards lack strength to hold...
I think the trouble is that none of them compliment each other.
Murray and Forster are porbably the closest we have to a partnership but are more effective away where you get a bit more time and space or play on the counter attack.
If we had a player with strength that could hold the ball up...
I think he could do alright along side Paynter. He is tall and skinny with little strength. He is quite mobile and works his knackers off every game. He is quite good in the air and is at his best running the channels.
He is no replacement for Cox and he is no cover for Paynter. He could...
Totally agree. This type of striker would be the ideal partner for Dickinson, Forster and Davies.
Dickinson scored 4 goals in 2 games when he was partnered by Ben Burgess while on loan at Blackpool and Davies score 6 in 12 when playing up front with Matt McNeil at Stockport.
