I'll have you know that those of us who played as defenders in the Sussex Sunday League of 35 years ago were quite capable of instant retribution
This thread is fast becoming a 'back in the day' chest puffing thread for old gits.

I've still got my metal screw-in studs stored safely in the garage. Just in case. You never know.....

He was probably thinking he wanted to win the ball and got a bit too enthusiastic

People make mistakes. It was a red, he'll learn from it (hopefully). We should have been 3 or 4 up at that point so hardly "entirely" his fault that we dropped points today. Need to not be shooting straight at the keeper every effing time tbf.

The way Dahoud charged in there is understandable wants to win the ball is a physical game etc but was he behaving in a reckless manner and should have received a yellow NOT a red? Its hard to see exactly the angle but I think as Billy isnt tackled through his legs from behind and the Utd player just about makes that a lawful challenge before the red card incident. It turned the game for sure - never in a million years can utd beat us 11 v 11

Of course they can, in the same way that Luton nearly beat Liverpool. No-one is immune to a defeat in the Premier League - not even Man City,

Fine, I'll remove a 'very'. but by no means was it 'unlucky'.
The reason I say unlucky is that it seems Dahoud starts his leg moving downward before the Sheffield's player sticks his leg in the way.
Edit: and the Sheffield player manages to do that via some acrobatics sticking his leg behind him.

Nah, it was a red all day, imho. Again, I'll say that there was no malice intended, just a rush of blood to the head.
