Brilliant support for the whole game .Will be interesting to see what the home support
will be like for the replay.

we will be much louder because there will be a lot more of us. we sing to the same level home and away it makes no difference everyone young and old sings. so the more of us the louder we are.

hope you can bring a decent number to Bury.

how many do you think will come?

despite arriving 30 mins late due to coach getting lost. I thoroughly enjoyed the day. Credit to stewards and police for standing off and not being overzealous. In fact had a great laugh with some of the stewards and police. A bit surreal being waved off by several police. :)

Honestly think you'll be lucky to see 200 of us up there.
Just had Southampton away, and with Huddersfield coming up (should be 1000+) the weekend after, I think most people who would've gone will be skint. I'm also guessing, as havent looked yet, that most of the advance train tickets will have gone. Oh, and its clear that Gus doesnt care about the competetion so people will effectively be travelling 400+ miles to see a reserve fixture.

Fair play to all your fans yesterday, cracking support, wanted to come and join you!! Shame we couldnt give you J block on top of what you had.

Did you mange to punch any home fans, throw flares or invade the pitch yesterday? Our Dale fans dont have such a great recolition of your fans visit to their town. I just hope if Brighton win your fans respect the Brighton fans but I doubt it.

2 coaches (100+) fans spent 25 mins driving round the centre entertaining the locals with singing and banging on windows. coach drivers had wrong postcode :)

mind you with that ref adding 6 mins extra time (????) we didn't miss much time. :)

Yeah yeah your great. The saviours of lower league football. Yawn!!!!

Well Ill be there with quite a few Bury fans who have already pledged and well be supporting Brighton all the way. Ive got absolutely no time for FC and the way they make out they are the saviours of British league/non league football when the likes of us have been watching our lower league sides for years doesnt sit well with me.

All the best in your replay, I hope our gesture is met the way it is meant and see you all for a great big sing along. we cant have the FC Fans having all their own way.

Believe me mate Im not the only one. Only yesterday their chaiman was on BBC Manchester going on about the FA Cup being a great platform for FC to show the football world that fans owning their club is the way forward. They are the fore runners of nothing.

The fool doesnt even realise that there are quit a few clubs where fans already own the club, Exeter being one and theyre not the saviours of lower league footy.

I even read one of their fans saying how great it is supporting a lower league side and how we should all try it. Well hello fans like me have been here for 28 years and longer supporting our local clubs you Manc pricks.

Who the f@ck do they think they are? I wouldnt mind most of their fans are either banned from old trafford or were shareholders so how the hell can they be against commercialism? Hypocrites.

Myself and many Bury fans hope you give them a right stuffing at Gigg and well be there to watch it dont you worry about that.

Oh and if any Brighton fans think their fans are great then try asking a few Rochdale fans. After the way they acted at spotland, attacked Dale fans, threw flares and invaded the pitch I just see them as nothing better than thugs.

Up the Albion!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jesus Bradley this is becoming a bit of an obsession.

In 2002, I chucked a tenner in the Shakers' bucket. It bought me a seat at Gigg Lane, with my name on it. I never realised that this would pay for a Bury supporter to turn up, eight years later, and slag off the Albion's opponents in a Cup game.

Take as you find I guess Bradley. It was refreshing to see a set of fans singing and dancing for the entire game without resorting to the usual predictable homophobic chants, shit ground no fans, top of the league - you're having a laugh crap ad nauseum. Maybe there are elements within FCUM who have a different agenda who weren't at Brighton yesterday (or didn't get in) who were at Rochdale, I don't know, but all clubs have them, Brighton included.

Failing an official comment from the club perhaps the thread starter, a Withdean steward, would like to offer his opinion? He seemed positively TITILLATED by the FCUM supporters' jumping and swaying.

Well first of all, to you personally Safeway, I can give the statement "diddums".

As for the away fans; I would imagine the police presence and in view of our borrowed stadium in a sensitive housing area, was justified if only as a precautionary measure.

The Stewarding too, would have been that, and in further review (from the powers that be outside and inside of our well-documented-and-often-watched-closely club) of the ROCHDALE match that became slightly controversial (if anyone recalls back that far).

Now with regards the away fans visiting the horribleness that I see few complains about that is the designated (and limited) 'Away Stand', I'd have to say that they were excellent in every respect on the day. Behaviour was as rambunctious as could be WITHIN the reasonable limits required for support of a football team. For sitting them down, I'd say that would have been difficult (doncha think?), and monitoring them included looking for smokers and those climbing on top of rails and seats. They made their point regarding the MUFC board, and made it well. The statement about 'Category C' might be pertinent EXCEPT for the review of the Rochdale game (as I've said above), and perhaps their fans might not have been aware of how we have to toe lines so carefully regarding the neighbourhood and the FA.

Banter with them was top notch, they represent themselves REALLY well in the majority, I too applauded them and gave both thumbs up to them for that.
We DID show a presence as a unit that 'may' have been ott, but that's now hindsight. Better to take precautions and have nothing bad happen, than not and have a disaster....right?

Lastly, someone suggested we could have given them the East stand as well. However, if you think about their leaping around en masse, their packed crowd, ebulliance and tendency to celebrate wildly - that high lego stand may well have offered a chance for problems - which I think our staff would have been right to considerately avoid.

Bottom lines are, that it was an overall success for all concerned - (yet I'm sure there will be LOADS of experts on here who'll try hard to differ!).
And for those who don't like the stewarding at Withdean, there are many ways to run things and I doubt many could do things better if they knew all the constraints and difficulties faced.

Jesus Bradley this is becoming a bit of an obsession.

Why is that tool so against us. They would probably still languish towards the bottom of the league if it wasn't for the 100k a year they get off us. Them posts just stink of jealousy as they went out of the cup yesterday. If he wishes to go to the game then he should be in the brighton end surely and if he is in the FC end then cheers Brighton on be ejected

We had the same reaction from a lot of Gillingham fans whilst we were busy paying for their new stand.

Oh yeah sorry I forgot its all one way isnt it? Were not helping you have a ground to play at, your keeping us in existence. Your not doing us a favour sunshine, we are providing a facility that you are paying the going rate for. Once again typical Plastic Manc attitude. Plus its nowt to do with us going out Ive detested your club since the day you turned up at Gigg Lane.

The sooner you and your thug fans are gone the better. Oh and your not reshaping sod all sunshine. If you care so much about lower league football why didnt you go and support your local side that needed help?

You bang on about anti commercialism but facts are you were created by Shareholder United members and how can shareholders of any kind be against commercialism? The reason your anti Glazier is because you were forced to sell your shares.

Id also appreciate it if you kept to your post Gigg lane promise that you wouldnt market yourself in the local schools. Thats the main reason I am against FC Utd. Bury is not big enough for two clubs and the 100K you give us (for the use of our ground not charitable reasons like youd make out)
will be nothing compared to the potential future revenue we are losing through your school/child initiatives.

Anyway I look forward to seeing you go out in the replay and no one will be singing louder and dont forget to give all the ESPN or sky money back because your so against commercialism. LIke I said Hypocrites !!!

Anyway have you apologised to Dale yet for the disgracful way your fans acted?

Youd be surprised just how many Bury fans havent forgotton how many Brighton fans helped during our 2002 administration matey. Your numbers were higher than most and it was much appreciated.

If they had got the allocation they wanted I doubt youd have been saying the same thing. Ive heard many stories from Dale fans about their behaviour up there and some of it is quit frankly disgraceful.
