Jose Mourinho. End of debate.
Interesting you can use facts to make one argument against another. So I'm going to do the same.I hate it with all these rose tinted spectacles about Venables. He's only looked upon kindly because he was in the job when Euro 96 was about and English football was feeling good about itself. He didn't have to qualify, and then at the tournament itself we only actually won two matches (and one of those was against Scotland).
The best in recent times has been Bobby Robson. Apparently he did want to stay on psat Italia 90 but the press didn't like him and so he decided to get out. They apologised after we got to the semi-finals. I thought Hoddle was a good coach and should never had gone for the disabled comments. Keegan was the worst choice, even worse than McLaren.
Well some good news, Allardyce has ruled himself out;

After 90 minutes...
In Euro 96, we won two (Scotland, Holland), drew three (Switzerland, Spain, Germany).
In Italia 90, we won one (Egypt), drew five (Ireland, Holland, Belgium, Cameroon, West Germany), lost one (Italy - albeit the last one was the 3rd Place Play-Off - virtually a friendly).
Ahh but we won in extra time in two of those games....
Anyway, my point was rather that Venables seem to earn this God like status without actually achieving much.
Mike Duxbury anyone?
Which tournament did Duxbury go to?
Harry Redknapp anyone?
We've just got rid of one ruddy-faced prick.
Redknapp is McLaren and Venables rolled into one...
