We haven't got a competitive game until next September so the FA may as well take their time over this one and stick a caretaker in for a few months.

some people must be MAD if they think mourinho would take this AWFUL job. Its the only job where you have to keep the media satisfied every week, as well as the most fairweather fans in the world.

a few months ago mclaren was hated, then he was loved...because he won a few games at home....then he was hated again. ITS MAD.

also john terry HATES mourinho. its a well known fact now. he wont be england manager and that is CERTAIN.

also why is martin o neil being considered!? he won a few titles with celtic....which i think i could have done.

yes hes doing ok at villa but enough to warrent england manager?

this worries me

How about an Anglicised, respected World Cup winner who has played in the Premiership and took a shit team to the World Cup semi finals as manager just last summer.

Step forward Jurgen Klinsmann. The best German ever.

Not sure with Jurgen. That German side did well in the last World Cup, but there was a feeling that the real brains behind it all was his number 2, who is now in charge of the German national side, so if you do not get him, how good is Kinsmann going to be?

As long as it is not an Englishman, based on the fact there are no stand out candidates. Personally have reservations with O'Neil.

Probably find Barwick will just try and persuade Scholari again and when he fucks that up, he will appoint Pearce and claim he was the first choice all along...

Mourinho or Lippi. We simply don't have the talent in the UK right now. To be honest I think most people on here could do a better job than McClown. I would be happy to do the job for a bargain £500,000 per year. If we don't qualify for the world cup I will accept the sack but would require a pay off of £250,000. This may seem a lot, but it's 10% of what that useless **** is getting.

Redknapp for me, rather see an English man with a bit of passion, than a foreigner.

If its a national game its madness that a foreign manager is even allowed to be considered. Might as well change the players too, i'll have Ronaldo in the England squad please.

McClaren was always the easy option for the FA and now they have paid the price.

I cannot believe, that with all these top sides in Europe, in Italy, Spain, France, Portugal, playing league and Champions League, that there are not a couple of decent coaches out there that can do a more than adaquate job for England.
