Can't believe no-one's mentioned the countless wars and 18th century diseases still sweeping through Africa or that the drugs trade is killing thousands in South America. Oh and that certain parts of the world are warming so quickly that life as we know it is likely to become nigh-on impossible for our children.

But yeah, back to windfarms. They definitely should be the hot topic of the moment :wozza:

And you're one of the large number of tosspots who thinks immigration and foreigners are great, just as long as its not where you live.

Interesting that you should take offence.

I had a speed read through your link, not sure what there is that really supports your view in there. All seems fairly balanced to me.

Anyway how about commenting on Wind Farms. Is there any advantage to the UK developing an independent source of energy, or is Middle Eastern Oil and Russian Gas a safe long term strategy ?

On the UK points:

1) By any rational estimate, the economic benefits to the UK from being part of the EU have always greatly outweighed the relatively small net cost (around 1-2% of GDP) if I remember correctly

Rubbish - we pay in far more than we get out. Don't even start on the trade discussion as quite clearly you're in the "if we leave all our trade will cease" camp which is blatantly untrue.

Then what are you doing posting the bleedin' obvious?

If I didn't know better I'd suggest you'd not read the millions of other treads on NSC - a majority of which state "the bleedin' obvious" !!!! It's in the rules you know !

Have you got any decent stats to back this assertion up ? The thing that strikes me is that bureaucracy is bureaucracy. If we are removed from the EU, there will be some things we will just stop doing, but plenty more we will end up doing in our own right and will pay the full cost, rather than a fraction which we contribute today.

I firmly beleive we will have a global war with Al Queda within a decade. Good, I'd like to see them and all the other fundamentalist arseholes obliterated.

All these crazy Islamists in Africa creating mayhem at Allah's bidding (apparently).

More of them (under the guise of Al Quaeda) doing exactly the same in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Civil war in Syria.

The Israel/Palestine problem still ongoing.

Tehran ruled by mad mullahs and maybe building a nuclear bomb.

The gun lobby (NRA) in the USA refusing to back down over gun control.

Overpopulation.

And in the UK:

The obscene amounts of money EU membership costs the UK taxpayer.

Immigration.

Welfare costs.

The ridiculous move to build more windfarms.

I have seldom felt so negative about the way things are going in the world or in the UK. One big fecking mess. Why the hell can't we live together in peace and harmony?

Maybe NSC has the solution to all the world's ills.

Perspective needed.

This country is not in a mess but people like yourself (with the greatest respect) need to lighten up. We are not starving in Ethiopia, we are not oppressed as in Iran, we do not have thousands of gun victims like in the U.S., we are not suffering from crippling unemployment as in Spain etc etc.

We are extremely lucky in the UK and I for one feel blessed to be a British citizen.

c. 100 years ago we were just about to enter WW1, followed by the horror of WW2 a mere 25 years later. I have a feeling our current problems fade into insignificance in comparison.

There is something to be said for searching for misery, and overlooking the small things in life which make a positive difference. It says something - maybe even quite a lot - about the OP.

For instance, I like the fact the Paolo Di Canio bought pizzas for all the Swindon fans who helped clear their pitch of snow over the weekend. But that isn't miserable enough, is it?

Plenty of sources out there but here's one example - http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/news/article-2052433/Chart-How-does-Britain-pay-EU-does-back.html

We already are, we have shale gas and we are expanding our nuclear energy capacity , whats your view on renewables are you a biomass man or do you thin solar is the way forward , i'm not sure why i'm asking you a question anyway to be honest, all you'll do is reply with cliche or a neutral soundbite .

Bushy, the areas you harp on about in London that you believe have been ruined by foreigners have always been shitholes, it's just that it's now a shithole with some dark people in it. Plus windfarms are efficient and they look a damn sight better than smoke stacks.

nibble mate , you're a classic example of someone who knows london in a very superficial way, with most of your knowledge coming through various forms of media , a simpler version of this sentence is " you don't know what you're f***ing talking about".
