That Apparent Assault By Stewards On The Would-Be Pitch Invader At The Final Whistle

Just reporting what I was told by a few folks who had - literally - a ringside seat. They were pretty shaken up. Like I say, there was more than enough phone/video evidence for a fair judgement to be reached.

Fair enough. Only seen that one photo which proves nothing. You could tell the stewards weren't going to act too kindly as he dodged 3 of them & made them look silly - but as others have said he shouldn't have been on the pitch.

None of your buisness
Did anyone notice the denim trousers and the pint hidden in his pocket?

I think there's more to this.

If a steward throws a punch it's assault.

Arrest the prick, and make sure he never works at a football match again.

Also ban the kid for a season too.

Watching that made me very happy :lolol: Bellend gets what is coming to him in THAT video.

Unfortunately I think the guy who got battered is the guy telling his thuggish colleague to lay off.

I think the actual guy who did it can be seem getting away down the tunnel @ 1:05.

A few things...

1. The 'young kid' is, I believe, 20 years old. Not that it matters - he broke the law, could have posed any kind of threat, and needed dealing with. If the stewards had to be firm to get the situation under control, so be it. If the chap hadn't encroached onto the pitch, there would have been nothing to deal with.

2. If excessive force was used, then those responsible will be appropriately punished, I'm sure.

3. Until that time, stating as a matter of fact that an assault happened, and similar, is only likely to end up with you being pursued by those you are potentially defaming. If that's what you want to happen, then kick on. Good luck.

I know it seems unnecessary to have five people take someone down, but really it isn't impossible to wriggle out of one or two people's grip,, especially when vigourously fighting to be free. Then when he is free, it's easy to jump back over the barrier, and get swallowed up by a group of fellow fans who will hide him. It's more difficult to get out of several people's grip, and an understandable approach.

Though, that is only about how many people piled on, not about any alleged excessive force.

Can it be classified as cheating if all teams do it? Brighton would do if they had a lead to hold on to

And Husty if you want to spend your day hunting down my posts and giving them a thumbs down that's up to you but I will keep repaying the favour

Husty if u can't have a convo & insist on thumbs downing every post I make today because I gave u one back then you really do have issues! Man up & talk - no wonder you're one of the most unpopular argumentative posters on here

Thats that then , stewards doing their job nothing more .

Unless anybody does make a formal complaint and is prepared to back it up in Court? Pitch invader did not seem to have a facial injuries.

Bang out of order, he was a young kid who shouldn't have gone on the pitch, he tried to get back in with us and from where I was looked like he was assaulted by so called security, credit to our players for stopping it. Do the maths one young kid 5 or six men all over him, sound right to you?

Having seen a clip on you tube it doesn't look like a 'kicking' to me. As it turns out he wasn't a kid and if he didn't resist then maybe two stewards would have been enough to escort him off the pitch.

2 had already moved in that photo as the players came over to help the kid....

No need to pin him down at all anyway, even without the punches and restraint on his head..The lad could have just been walked off the pitch and handed over to police.

It seemed clear that he wasn't willing to to be walked off the pitch and handed to the Police

Was going to post the same thing. More likely the only reason Husty got enjoyment was because the man was in uniform. Obviously didn't watch the clip properly. As for the beating the cop took, what sort of cowardly scum kicks someone in the head when they are lying on the ground!

He was very well apprehended. They even avoided 'tip-tackling' him when he went to ground (Important part of training as a persons neck could be broken). We may have some ex-Rugby boys there.

Sheffield Star is now trying to blow it out of proportion , if this had been an Albion fan running onto the pitch at Hillsborough they would have been dealt with in exactly the same manner.

In a perfect world:
Don't hurt if holding is enough!
Don't wound if hurting is enough!
Don't maim if wounding is enough!
Don't kill if maiming is enough!
Trouble is . . . its not a perfect world.
