Whatever the Queens thinks you'd think there would be some respect. Gove's gets on the sauce at Murdoch's wedding and can't keep his mouth shut, he does nothing for the reputation of politicians...

So are you calling it 100%?

Gove is definitely one of the sauces

I'd be very surprised if The Sun would run a story of this magnitude without having at least two impeccable sources,

You mean like its coverage of the Hillsborough disaster and its stories, from multiple sources, of corpses being robbed and pissed on?

If you are British, you are one of the Queen's subjects, again whether you like it or not. That isn't open to negotiation; it's a fact.

That's not a fact. We ceased to become British subjects after the Nationality Act of 1981: we're British citizens now - the wording in our passports changed accordingly.

I see what you are saying.
If Britain was made on this as you say, it would be fair to say then when you walk out your door today to go to work or do whatever it is you are doing, you yourself are a beneficiary of this illicit stolen wealth, torture, murder, massacre and rape, and you also realise it.

Armed with this realisation and that you are ashamed what are you going to do about it?

There are clearly many countries according to you that have been disadvantaged by the British, why dont you put your own moral mouth where your self proclaimed virtue is and voluntarily give up your illicitly gained job to someone in the world who has suffered under the British.

When you have done this and wiped your individual slate clean come back and lecture everyone else on how our standards of living are ill-gotten.

or you could just rant on and moralise like everyone else of the same ilk.

ps if you ever want that spare ticket for the Proms its yours, its a lovely setting to hear a nice bit of Elgar

just look at all those people ashamed of their country

:)
sorry, couldnt resisit it. Cracks me up whenever I see it. Its a fairly real representation of these sort of people.

I quite like Elgar myself. Grew up in a classical music environment when I was a kid, grandfather being a cellist in one
of the London based orchestras of some sort. Never been to the proms though.

im sure you could resist it Dave but you chose not to
When you say these type of people i presume you mean EDL or suchlike, i have no time for the EDL either. But what we are really talking about is working class people who feel so completely lost and alienated that some have resorted to shouting the only way they know how, your answer is to sneer and laugh and call them worthless. Its years upon years of people like you dismissing peoples concerns that have finally ironically led to a referendum......so i thank you for that Dave
what a cracking socialist hypocrite you are

Not really. Its my choice. I don't recognise her authority.

Well in that case I don't recognise the authority of the police. Won't stop them doing me for speeding tho' will it. Sounds like that game you play with babies, if you can't see it, it's not there...yeah right

To be fair, none of us have any choice in where we were born. And your right when you say that I'm lucky to live in a country with freedom of speech. It enables me to voice my opinions on the countries brutal past, most of which was done in the name of a King or Queen. In all honesty, even if I lived in a country without freedom, I'd still speak out about brutality. Why? Because its just the right thing to do.

True, although very little prevents us cluttering off to another country with a more 'acceptable' historical back story. Bizarrely people who often denigrate this country (past and present) be they far left loons (see Corbyn), self loathers, communists, those pining for Sharia law, you know the usual suspects ... never manage to find the courage of their convictions and go and live in a place better suited to their world view.

Your certainty that you would definitely speak out even if living in a country without freedom suggests you have very little understanding of what life is like in other oppressive totalitarian states. Of course I could be wrong you may have a high tolerance for torture or could bare watching your family and known associates dragged away for similar (or worse) treatment.

Just returning to the original topic. What's the odds that the Palace will be having a gentle word with the Cabinet Office ensuring that Michael Gove doesn't get any future invites to meet with Brenda?

This is just ridulous, isn't it. Alledged, off the record opinions from 6 years ago. Even if true, she may not hold the same views now.

Disgraceful low blow from Gove, or whoever, really.

Not only that, but the supposed comments wasn't even an endorsement of leaving. People seem to think that politically neutral means the Queen can't have any opinion on political issues which is nonsense. She has to be neutral to party politics and keep views private, not silent.

yeh of course political correctness or even dare to think outside the box has never stifled freedom of speech:facepalm: :
open your eyes it is evaporating on a daily basis you prune..

Thanks for the insult.

Does it not strike you at all that the influence of the European Union does all sorts of things in terms of Human rights, better conditions at work, protection for people in all sorts of ways. My eyes are open. You should wake up and smell the coffee.

But we will never agree, so what's the point.

Firstly her opinion in 2011 is materially irrelevant to any debate being had now, in the context of an impending referendum.

Having said that, if she is publicly spouting privately held views, and The Sun gets wind then they've every right to report IMO. She is the Queen after all. The only problem here is that what they're reporting is a) irrelevant to any actual discussion about the merits of Brexit, b) blatantly designed to add weight to their position and c) a load of guff.
