Should Sussex be reunited as one county?

Having rummaged on t'internet I think Sussex was split into East and West for ecclesiastical purposes long before that. Perhaps we could grab Tunbridge Wells back and annexe Tenterden whilst we are at it, wasted on Kent. Perhaps Canterbury could move in a Monty Python "Crimson Pearl Assurance" sort of way as well, put it on top of Crawley.

If the county is to be re-united, the county town, or 'capital' should be the ancient capital of the old Kingdom - Selsey.

One county and the county town should be the one closer to the centre of the county. Chichester is on the western edge, so Lewes it is.
And a practical point. Royal Mail no longer insists on the county name being put on envelopes so everyone in favour of unification should from now on put just "Sussex". I do.
If we were to unify we should make it fair, take the WE of West and the ST of East and create WEST Sussex. The county town should be Arundel, of course, and we should pass Crawley to Surrey to remove the confusion around the Gatwick / Crawley corridor ... all those in favour say "I".

Nothing wrong with Surrey having the airport as long as our missile sites are close to the border

I couldn't find any references to Tunbridge Wells being in Sussex. When was this ?

Posts like this are so stupid.
If it were to happen it's not as if people from east and west would run to eachother for a big hug, or anything at all would change.
Rename the county to bananas, split it into north and south, whatever - all that it would do is change a mental concept of something about a ficticious border that does not really exist.
Things like this are peddled to keep people distracted into things that have no affect upon anything.

Can't remember when it changed but the south part of Tunbridge Wells, Pantiles etc was part of Sussex.
