Our future Trossard replacement had his jaw nutted loose at the weekend and is out for a few months having been scoring for fun in Paraguay.

However, Arsenal have been sniffing around recently.

Hopefully we nab him at the beginning of the window, just need to give the dodgy agent the backhander he thinks he deserves!
Is there a sauce for the story that his agent is greedier than any other agent - or perhaps even greedier than any other South American agent? Any info. as to why the deal went down in January?

Allegedly they wanted all / part of his salary paid in South America to avoid the UKs 50% tax rate ...

At the time, it was reported that once they found out what his net pay would be, they balked at it.

More recently, it's also been reported that there was an issue with some sort of bonus.

On the pitch, yes. Although that signing was allegedly the gateway to getting Caicedo in so even our duds have added value!

This was in the athletic I believe.

Caicedo for £6m is day light robbery, it’s criminal, it’s outrageous. Arce was an essential and brilliant signing if this is true.

And the reason that he’ll probably be signing for us is that the agent can get a big share of the £50m+ fee after we develop him into a Big Seven player! Arsenal can offer a few million more than us now but his agent will look at when Ben White’s agent hit the jackpot and think, ‘I’m having some of that!’.

Suggest we don't accept any clause preventing us from paying him in roubles - then he can learn a bit about having to wheel and deal to get a bit of easy money!

Sounds like we're getting very close

"If Julio (Enciso) leaves, we have to see how to strengthen that sector. At an institutional level, we don't talk to anyone. The Enciso thing is there, we have received the offer and we told him that we had no problem, now they must agree" Rubén Di Tore, President of #Libertad"

Would he go straight into first team squad contention though?

He should qualify for a work permit as he's already a full international. We may still send him out on loan though to get more experience. However he's more experienced in senior football than Jeremy Sarmiento who forced himself into the first team picture in his first season, so we may see Enciso kept for the first part of the season, training with the first team squad while playing some games for the U23's and seeing how he gets on before a further decision is made in January. There is certainly a proven pathway into the first team squad for a new young signing now though.
