Not like the player is legally bound to listen to his agent... could have said "screw you" and gone there anyway

Not necessarily, it depends on what the contract between the player and agent states. It gets even more complicated if the agent has any co-ownership of the player which does happen in South America. Co-ownership of a player or his rights isn't allowed in the Premier League so we'd have to buy those out, if the agent doesn't agree then the player is stuck.

A real possibility. These two stories imply that at the minimum, the agent has persuaded Enciso to reject the move but actually implies that he unilaterally pulled the deal and is hoping Enciso won’t be too angry and upset for long.

Hmm, yeh, you hear about some South American agents being linked with organised crime, so a possibility, (and we don't know) it not be as easy just to sack him as it is in Europe.

Of course, it could be the player wanted the MLS deal for financial or other reasons

I doubt he'll go MLS. I reckon the club will iron out / rework the deal between now and the summer window

The great figure of the night in Itauguá, and perhaps the "MVP" of this first date of the Apertura tournament, is Julio Enciso, the jewel of Libertad, who scored three goals against October 12 and did a great job on the pitch. After the meeting, the youth spoke with TV and was very satisfied with the team's work in general.

"I thank my family, my teammates, the club, without them I could not have done this job on the field of play, I am satisfied and we prevailed over the rival team" stressed the attacker.

Not only did Enciso talk about it, he also referred to his frustrated transfer in this transfer market. "Each player always dreams of being transferred, but I will continue to work very hard at the club to make it happen," said the youth.

Enciso scored his first hat-trick since debuting in the top flight and is looking for more records to break this season.

It is inevitable this young talent will move on in the summer, this just means he gets a pay rise until then, the club can demand a higher transfer fee and more importantly the agent gets a pay day !!

Unless his chairman is of the Prince Charming variety and has given his word that he can move on in the summer if a big enough bid comes in. As long as it is at least 100 million, which he’ll only find out about when the bids are made

That worked out well for Zaha, who was naive enough to not demand it in writing

Our future Trossard replacement had his jaw nutted loose at the weekend and is out for a few months having been scoring for fun in Paraguay.

However, Arsenal have been sniffing around recently.

Hopefully we nab him at the beginning of the window, just need to give the dodgy agent the backhander he thinks he deserves!

Looks like this could be back on. His agent Pedro Aldave was at The Amex on Saturday.

If there was ever a perfect advert for The Albion as the right place for young talent to develop and flourish it was Saturday's game. Squad full of youth, Caicedo / Cucurella both scoring, Mac Allister running the midfield. Thumping Man Utd, cracking atmosphere. What's not to love?
