He was fantastic at Lille and should have gone to the Euros

As I said. 4 goals, 5 assists in a division not much better then the Championship on average. Horseshit for Liverpool the season before. But most of all, we have plenty of quality I that position and I would consider this a grave and concerning waste of money. In fact if this happened I would really start to question the way the club was being run as Liverpool will not subsidise like City do. I am fully confident it's utter rubbish though so that's fine.

I have heard from a very reputable source that we have enquired about taking Cole on a season long loan from Liverpool.

I don't know whether it's something they (or he) would be receptive to but I believe we have enquired.

Tell your reputable source that encouraging threads with such outlandish suggestions is making NSC a laughing stock on other forums. .....

Plus a few days ago I would have said 'won't happen' because of Cole's huge salary but since we signed Wayne Bridge I'm less sure
The difference is, City can afford to pay 90% of a players wages without caring where he goes, Liverpool cannot.

he could have stayed at Lille and had champions league football. Why would he choice to drop to us?

Could do a job though!!

This. Think we're really dreaming again here. West ham also wanted him back. Although it is gus and Brighton play the right way...

don't know if the OP is on a wind up, but this is simply NOT going to happen.

Lille wanted him back (champions league football), Rodgers said he would give him and everyone a fair chance (they've only just resumed training). and as this spectacular signing is due to be announced this week, for it to be Cole, rodgers would of had to have given him about 2 days in training before allowing it.

And even if he did, there would be a queue of prem clubs willing to take him on (West Ham enquired) and I dare say Swansea would be interested to.

Its pure fantasy

Comical. I bet we have made numerous enquiries about a whole host of players and it will all come to nothing. If we did make an enquiry I suspect it was with the possibility of Vicente not coming back. Out of the two, who would you have, considering that neither would be happy sitting on the bench and unlikely to play both. For me, Vicente is head and shoulders above Cole.

We enquired, that's all I have stated......

Yes yes yes yes.

I do think he could do a job for us though, depth of squad and all that. I also quietly think and would not make it public but I dont think we will not see Mr V on the other side of Xmas, a deal has been done and a halfway point has been met.

Not going to happen at the present time, maybe if we get promotion this season, then we have a chance next year.

Are we seriously going to have a topic on all Premier League players who were loaned out to clubs last season who will now be joining us on loan every few hours ?

OPs wet dream, for so many reasons alraedy stated. bottom line, he's going to be playing for Liverpool this season as he suits the new manager or he'll be off elsewhere in Premiership.

The goal on 1 min 57 secs brilliant. Why would the Albion want a player this good? What is Carl Wilson-Denis up to these days? He is more the calibre of player we should aspire too.

Joking aside from everything being printed in the media and this story seems to come from more than one source, it seems Rodgers wants to give him a fair chance to prove himself at Liverpool.

Dream on me thinks.

Don't think we should have to go for quality players on loan just because they are available. Yes Joe Cole would be good, but he's another ageing player who wouldn't be cheap, and we now have Vicente back.

We need to build a team - not just individuals
