I have heard from a very reputable source that we have enquired about taking Cole on a season long loan from Liverpool.

I don't know whether it's something they (or he) would be receptive to but I believe we have enquired.

I've come back home.
IF that were true i would probably die laughing. That would be mint IF its was true. The other teams might as well just stay in their changing rooms if we got cole in front of Bridge, Bruno, AEA, Greer and besides The Messiah and Bridcutt.

LuaLua, Noone, Buckley, Vicente, Bridcutt, Joe Cole........what a midfield we would have!

Interesting - and another name with a Chelsea connection plus he might fancy living down South again.

But as a ball player wouldn't Cole want to fit in with Brendan Rodgers plans at Anfield? Plus a few days ago I would have said 'won't happen' because of Cole's huge salary but since we signed Wayne Bridge I'm less sure, it seems anything could happen at The Amex these days.

Would be flair but I think we need a CM with bite.

he could have stayed at Lille and had champions league football. Why would he choice to drop to us?

Could do a job though!!

Hasn't looked great for a few years and we have plenty of decent wide midfield players. Would be ok in this division but not what we need at all right now.

Lille wanted to keep him after his loan last season but couldn't afford his full £90K a week wage and anyway Rodgers was adamant that he wanted him at Liverpool not going out on loan again and not selling him.

Of course things change but this one seems highly unlikely

Fits in with Darren Balkhams tweet about the reaction of the fans and also the idea that we are after a £5m Rated player. The downside is he could have stayed at Lille if he was prrepared to drop wages. Doubt it would happen but great if it did.

Can't see it happening, Rogers has made it clear everyone gets a fresh start at Liverpool this season. And with the system Liverpool will be playing I can see Cole playing a big role. And even if he wasn't there would a host of Premiership clubs come in before we got a look in. Doesn't mean that we haven't enquired though.
