Porky is on a ban right now, but he will bring his bigoted, uneducated views back online as soon as the ban is served. Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.

Did Catholics invent banning people?

Enoh Powell IS right.

Technically, he was right because he is dead.

Did you know that Enoch Powell voted to decriminalise homosexuality?
He also voted against Capital Punishment and Corporal Punishment?
He brought in the first West Indian nurses when he was Health Minister?
He was a Unionist MP, but complained about the shooting of the 4 IRA terrorists in Gibraltar?

Rivers of Blood was a very small part of what made Enoch Powell.

Leonado Da Vinci? Michelangelo? They are quite big you know.

Galileo - had the cheek to say the earth went around the sun - banged him up

The Crusades, great fun cutting up pregnant muslim and jewish women in the Levant

The Inquisition - stake burnings, the rack, witch hunts, ethnic cleansing of jews in Europe

The slaughter and extinction of two, no less, ancient South American cultures - Inca and Aztec

Sexual and physical abuse in Irish boarding schools........yadda, yadda, yadda

Yeah, the Catholic Church, at the forefront of change and tolerance throughout human history, let's give them a big round of applause :clap2::clap2:

(p.s. religion is the opium of the unimaginative)

True. Joined the army in WWII as a private soldier, left as a Brigadier - the only man on any side to do so.

Helped plan the Battle of El Alamein, the decisive engagement that won the war in N Africa

At 24 became a University Professor, missing out on being the youngest in the world by one month.

Was learning his 12th language in his seventies

Predicted the unholy mess that is the sum of decades of multiculturalism in this country

He was no rabble rouser, arguably the most intelligent politician that ever lived, alongside Churchill. Certainly the best MP who never made PM

Cheers

try and leave the comedy to people who are good at it, you plainly arent.
Come on Bushy, to be fair, you're marking yourself out as a bit of a spanner by a) gobbing off to the entire board that you gave another bloke a slap years ago and b) rising to EVERY remotely republican/lefty post that appears on here.

After all, to any normal person, this Porky lad has made himself look even more stupid really, and you're not exactly rushing to cyber slap him are you!

Apart fro the abuse in Ireland, all of those things relate to the actions of the Church before the split, so to pin them on specifically what is now the Catholic church is a little misguided. Also, I would argue the destruction of Incas and Aztecs is largely the fault of European civilization rather than religion.

P
he was a historian who appreciated the lessons of history. Something that the idiotic know alls who

a) re-write history claiming medieval England was full of black people, England has always been multicultural and cite examples of a few thousand Hugenot weavers to back up their flimsy fantasies, and that the mass immigration of the fifties was not unusual, and not the most significant event to happen to the populations of these islands in 900 years

b) expect that by brushing things under the carpet, denial, lies and patronising of immigrants is the best way forward, and adopting attitudes that were as colonial, parachial and xenophobic as the most vocal anti immigration racist, but dressing them up as sophistication and compassion

fail miserably to do.

Shame he was misconstrued by so many idiots at both ends of the spectrum.

It's only an opinion, which means I could be anything from 0-100% wrong. I'm not talking about colour, I'm talking about no-go areas in Bradford etc. When you put two diametrically opposed cultures together in close-knit urban situations: secular indigenous working class versus south Asian immigrants increasingly influenced by Saudi Arabian brands of Islam, what are you going to get?

Powell saw this coming in 1969. Black, Asian, African, East European people who integrate into British culture are fine. The ghetto-ization of Britain is almost complete in urban settings, it's not the fault of the immigrants - why should they have to integrate they say?

Powell saw this also, his solution was to stop it happening in the first place. Sadly, a few chickens came home to roost on 7/7.

Even sadder is that Enoch Powell has been hijacked by knuckle-dragging right wing extremists, he would have hated that more

but opinions that differ from the accepted NSC norm of all immigration is wonderful, ensure that you will be painted as a right wing knuckledragger, have you learnt nothing since you've been on here ?

???

The Catholic Church before the split was called the Catholic Church. The history of the Conquistadores is nothing without the Church. The religion of men like Pizarro and Cortes was the main reason they treated the pagan Americans the way they did. Rome backed them to the hilt, their mission was to spread the word of God and to bring civilization to the most obscure parts of the Americas. It quickly turned into a bloodthirsty dash for loot, which was covered up by the religious pretence.
