And was the thread creator a dvd only extra? if so who f**king opened that dvd?

I could also go on about how Irish Nationalism was an entirely Protestant game until the 1920s, when the actions of Craig and co. in claiming that it'd form a "papist state" turned many Catholics in to Nationalists. Or how the first President of Ireland was Protestant, about half of the first cabinet was Protestant etc, etc.
Not entirely Protestant.

Wasn't Robert Briscoe, the IRA activist, who was a friend of Éamon de Valera and who later became Lord Mayor of Dublin, Jewish?

Ooh, I'd forgotten him...

But its more of the same basically - the leaders of the entire thing were either Irish upper class Protestants with the odd Jew; or not really Irish at all (de Valera, Connolly, etc). Going back to the late 18th century rebellions, those were *entirely* protestant lead.

A question about BPP merchandise ...

If "there's no black in the Union Jack", why have they outined all the colours on this badge in BLACK?

Are they REALLY that stupid?

There really are some hypocritical pricks on this board...

I'm considerably better/have a greater intellect/better read/justifiably right/ than everyone else so f*** off.

Also, unless I'm stumbling into one of those QI-cliche statements here, in which case I'm sure the alarm bells will start within a second of my clicking the 'post' button, is it not right that said flag is only called the Union Jack when it's on a boat?

If so, what it would be when worn as a badge and presumably mostly on land, would be the Union Flag, which does rather mess up their rhyme.

Maybe old Pork Cock could sort himself out with a "There's No Fag In The Union Flag" t-shirt then?

You are correct. And I get pissed off when people fly it upside down. If you're gonna take one to a sporting event, at least know which way up it goes.

There is some debate on whether the term Union Jack is correct or not:

Ahhh, Wikipedia, that fountain of all knowledge.

Ahhh, Wikipedia, that fountain of all knowledge.

Wikipedia may incorrect from time to time but they are quoting the Flag Institute here:

The Flag Institute, the vexillological organisation for the United Kingdom, stated that the term Union Flag is a "relatively recent idea". Jack was a word previously used to denote any flag.[4] It also noted that "From early in its life the Admiralty itself frequently referred to the flag as the Union Jack, whatever its use, and in 1902 an Admiralty Circular announced that Their Lordships had decided that either name could be used officially. Such use was given Parliamentary approval in 1908 when it was stated that "the Union Jack should be regarded as the National flag".[3] Nevertheless, the term "Union Flag" is used in King Charles's proclamation of 1634,[5] and in King George III's proclamation of 1 January 1801 concerning the arms and flag of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.[6] One theory is that the 'Jack' part of the name may also have come from the name of King James I/James VI of Scotland [7]

The Jack is flown on Naval ships. From the jackstaff.

The flag is flown ashore. From a flagstaff.

There endeth the lesson from the ex-matelot.

Haha, the black bits on that badge did make me laugh. However, Enoch Powell was right.

I don't think that would trouble the BPP. They are first and foremost a white supremacist, racist party, with very little interest in historic "nationalism". They perceive the BNP as traitors to the cause, because the BNP have abandoned overt racism and embraced nationalism.
