Excellent post. Wasted on many above (not on the poster you're responding too though, of course), many of whom appear to have their fingers jammed in their ears as they shout all the louder. I'm pretty much entirely in line with your take on things but without any of the HR experience or...
Exactly. Anyone who thinks it's nothing but holidays during the summer, and who thinks that this - entirely self-inflicted, lest we forget - fiasco won't have a detrimental impact on the pitch next season has got their head so far up their own backside they can count the cornflakes they had for...
Agreed. Excellent post. I'm so glad that a blithely unquestioning "our club, right or wrong" approach hasn't always predominated. We wouldn't have a club now of any kind if it had.
You're not making a huge amount of sense tbh but on this particular point...as this thread so amply demonstrates, they've really hit the nail right on the point with that.
I think it shows exactly the opposite of that: as ROSM rightly points out above, they've detailed nothing about their objections to the LMA other than issuing a vague and knee-jerk prickly, tetchy little legal threat which makes them look hyper-defensive, rather than confident. I'm rather...
It's really quite simple: In any context, a totally over-aggressive response such as this one clearly demonstrates nothing so much as that the truth has hurt. Whereas if they'd kept their big litigation-threatening trap shut, it wouldn't have.
I can't see too many people sticking up for Gus though, either now or then. Just because I think the club is making an utter fool of itself pretty much at every step at the moment (and that's putting it mildly) says nothing about Poyet's behaviour, which has also been appalling.
I agree. I think Gus is an overambitious hothead who's slack jaw is often entirely unconnected to his brain. I'd hope both he and Barber were toast before next season starts. It's the only way to move on.
I don't think anyone who's out of work would refuse a job: poor old Steve Gritt was desperate enough to take the Worst Job In Football in order to pay the mortgage and who could blame him for that.
But that's not the point: If a club acquires a reputation for having a litigious, slighly...
Isn't people whom we KNOW to be excellent, solid individuals, being led by ridiculous autocrats? Poor sods.
Threatening silly little writs left right and centre doesn't just make you look insane, although there's certainly that. It makes you look wrong.
