It was bad defending to let the lad have all that space and fire off a shot. The chances of it then hitting one of the many defenders in front of him not closing down properly and diverting the ball were relatively high and isn’t really that much bad luck. IMO the deflection wasnt even that bad...
What was lucky about Burnley’s goal? Certainly wasn’t the worst deflection you’ve seen and the kid did very well to create the chance. It was poor defending if anything.

Yes really poor, not helped by what looked like four Albion players around the scorer who seemed to want to give him as much time as he wanted to pull the trigger.
Every team score against us. It’s not bad luck. We have to work ridiculously hard to score and every other team we play can be almost certain they will get a gift of a goal if they hang in there.
