I can reveal it was all a terrible misunderstanding after Simon Jordan went into a garage in Thornton Heath. The conversation went something like this...
Jordan: "Can I have a Skoda for the Palace, please?"
Garage owner: "Sounds like a fair deal, but I can't give you any fuel with it."
Having failed to get past security, when I was almost eaten by roughly 100 Rottweilers, my Arsene Wenger disguise failed to work when someone pointed out that he wasn't in the country. So I did what anyone else would have done in that situation - hired a plane, hovered over the training ground...
To be fair, for some reason, he hasn't played at all (even as a sub) in the last 3 games before today.
I don't believe DK would want to or dare sell him (would he?), but I hope McGhee is getting the message if JR overshadowed their players.
IMHO, JR should start alongside Sugarboy at Reading...
I believe Cullip, Knight and Harding have been offered contract extensions beyond next year but have yet to sign. Disappointing in Harding's case as I thought he would be very keen to sign.
Currie's trial suggests McGhee realises we need another wide midfielder. I hope he sees that position - not striker - as our priority. I'm quite happy with the strikers we've got now, bearing in mind only 2 of them will play at once (unless we go 2-3-5, as at QPR).
About time Robinson got a...
Defenders: Mayo, Harding, Cullip, Butters, Blackwell?, Hinshelwood, Breach, Virgo, El-Abd, P Watson. Think we are more than adequately covered, but they will be under a lot of pressure unless the midfield does its stuff.
You are Mark McGhee. Assuming Sugarboy Malingo signs and we have enough money for the wages of 1 more player after that, which position would you strengthen? Personally, I think the midfield needs attention - probably wide as a priority.
