Apologies if this has been posted before, but I don't recall it. Zero covid cases in Gibraltar (100% vaccinated) for three weeks in a row. Vaccines are wonderful.

Another country that registers zero deaths for the first time in months (since August 2020!): Portugal. Also only 196 new cases which is very very low, and 17 new admissions (which is also low).

I don't remember the exact numbers but I'd say deaths are very low for a Tuesday? Pretty sure it was more than 100 a week ago. Fantastic

This is not peer-reviewed yet, but it would add another big benefit from vaccination if confirmed.

Agree. That's why I don't think the comparative graphs belong here... I would only post good news, whether it's about UK or other countries.

My thoughts exactly. The sight of other countries struggling doesn't make me happy at all.

Other countries doing well is good news for everyone and I have to say I'm very impressed with the US' vaccination efforts. 2 million per day! https://www.nytimes.com/live/2021/03/04/world/covid-19-coronavirus#the-united-states-is-now-averaging-2-million-vaccine-doses-administered-per-day

This graph is quite impressive as well. Shows active infections/100,000 in care homes in Catalonia (Spain). Infections are drastically cut in those with a percentage of vaccinations exceeding 70%. Very, very encouraging, as it shows vaccines do seem to stop transmission.

This is fantastic, especially the fact it shows identical efficacy against severe disease and hospitalisation for all variants once the immune response really kicks in.

This drug (Colchicine) looks very promising. '...reduced hospitalizations by 25%, the need for mechanical ventilation by 50%, and deaths by 44%. This major scientific discovery makes colchicine the world’s first oral drug that could be used to treat non-hospitalized patients with COVID-19.’...

More than 60 million of vaccine doses administered worldwide - and interesting to see that also countries like France seem to be picking up speed.
