I\'ve got so much respect for Simon Weston
There's no comparison. Simon Weston went to The Falklands as an obligation (that of going to war, should your country happen to declare one) and faced horrors that I hope the rest of us will never...
Thanks to those of you who have helped me on my way. I've opted for "Happy Songs For Happy People" and "Government Commissions" for starters and I'll work my way back from there.
I've been hearing the name for years but never knowingly heard anything by them. Zane Lowe played what I think might be the new single the other day and I liked it enough to check out some of their other stuff but where do I start? I'm hoping that the collective good taste of NSC can point me...
Mansun.
First album was a masterpiece, second album was a prog-rock disaster, third album had no songs and the last one was so bad that their record company didn't even release it until after they'd split up (kerr-ching!).
Spot on! I'd just like to add:
pavements.....they're for pedestrians
I'm self-employed. If I get mown down on the pavement (which very nearly happened outside my front gate a while back) who's going to pay for my time off work? Certainly not Mr Cyclist who doesn't have insurance.
I think the procession normally starts in North Street and works its way to Marine Parade for the burning ceremony itself. The fireworks are normally excellent.

Good to hear it, but don't work to hard, eh? Have to confess that I haven't sat behind a drumkit properly in nearly two years. Too many other priorities but it'll happen again for sure before too long.
Excuse me for a minute whilst I fetch another beer and rustle up a bacon sandwich.........
Look away everyone. Punka love-in in progress!
Very well, thank you. And yourself? I don't make it on here during the day any more thanks to electrical work taking priority but a fairly frequent frequenter in the evenings. Normally when I've had a couple, such as now.
You still in Crawley...
Agree with you that too much of it fries your brain but the same could be said of alcohol.
If we had a "Thread full of beer" there'd be horror stories about wife beating, losing your job, waking up in a pool of your own piss, drinking aftershave, etc, etc.
If you're predisposed to addiction...
Take a whiskey tumbler, add a large (at least a double) measure of Jameson, a slice of lemon studded with cloves, a cinamon stick, a teaspoon of honey and another of demerara sugar, leave the spoon in and top up with very hot water.
Works for me every time-I actually look forward to a cold...
Take advantage of their introductory offers, give them all a go and cancel when the free period runs out, sticking with the one you like the most. I did this and have used Lovefilm ever since.
Clippers, Sydney Street. Nice bunch of guys, generally all good cutters but I make a point of waiting for Mike as he's the best and he likes a banter about the Albion amongst other things. BTW, Adam Virgo used to get his hair cut there before he went Northwards.
