My mrs works on a psychiatric ward and all of her patients are adolescent males who have over indulged. But you have to be susceptible to paranoia and psychiatric illness first.
A familial predisposition to it helps as well.

If you're predisposed to addiction then there's very little you can do about it (apart from complete abstinence), whether your drug of choice happens to be weed, alcohol, heroin or Mars Bars.
BTW I don't have much of an opinion either way on weed but I don't bother with it now because I don't like to be monged out. On the rare occasions that I do then I'd rather drink too much beer or wine because it doesn't involve a ridiculous performance with papers, cigarettes, roaches and a misconceived idea that I'm doing something naughty.
