Why? I prefer what Gus has done for us with the budget he'd had. Do you never criticise managers in the top flight, just because they have good CVs?

Then he'd have more football experience than he has.
Why, what has Gus said?

I agree I would prefer Poyet, but Adkins is a more than suitable back-up. I meant that I think Gus is probably being a bit ambitious hoping for the Chelsea job to come along, if he was to get you promoted then he would be half way there. Still not sure if he is anywhere near ready for that job yet.

That source was crap.

All the wellknown media saying it was never likely.

Perhaps something surprised happened. But yes, I tend to agree that it was crap info and am delighted by that.
The media had it completely wrong beforehand and now look very silly.

Soggy Biscuits.

The Biscuitmen crumble.

Noddy club, nothing town, deluded fans.

The ticket prices are set, and no one can force you to eat and drink more, so only generous TB will be hit hard or Barber will have to do even more to up commercial income.

You know as well as I do that we will end up paying for the playing staff one way or another (i.e. we're football supporters who attend matches!).

I don't know about you, but I trust Tony Bloom to give our manager a transfer budget that is as generous as it can be at any given time. I just hope that the club can now continue to pull in the same positive direction as it has over the successful 3 full seasons that TB & GP have been at the helm. Mr B realises only too well that success takes time to achieve & our club will be equipped to stay in the Premier Division if the foundations are tried & solid. I really do hope GP will stay with us to really reap the rewards - as I've no doubt it will help him greatly in achieving his goal of managing at the very top level in whatever club, league or country he fancies.

The money in the Prem' makes the clubs that make it to the big table believe they are bigger than they actually are, hence the Reading fans being deluded.
I mean, Reading or Brighton, come on, seriously.

Don't you understand English, Bland, uninteresting , boring.Adkins may be a decent manager but he, just like your club, has no personality and no charisma. Dont worry though your slightly less uninteresting than Aldershot.

Wow, do I sense a hint of jealously in that criticism? Club having no charisma? This is brilliant, never heard that one before. In that case, I sympathise with you that a 'nothing' club has took an easy six points off you last season, done a lot better than you in the past few years and will continue to do so for the next two or three seasons.

Thanks for that but have you not got it into your thick head that OUR manager told you lot to piss off.

See you next season, maybe.

Reading LOL.

My man at the BBC says a "top source at Brighton" has confirmed to him that Poyet is staying.

But we all knew that anyway.

Congratulations. I think that concludes your business here, good luck with your continuing search for a manager and relegation.

If we were in your position I'm not sure I'd mind that much between Poyet and Adkins. It's not so simple for us though, Poyet has built a team to play his style of football (and also speak in Spanish). If he left, and we got Adkins, I'd be very annoyed. Suddenly we'd have to start from scratch.

Sure, but he hasn't said he expects to go to Chelsea next. He'd like to manage us in the premiership, maybe go to Zaragoza some day, and there are plenty of other teams that would be a step up from Brighton. Had you have survived the premiership, you would have been too, but as you're on your way down your not, that's all.

Still not sure if he is anywhere near ready for that job yet.
He's not, but he hasn't said otherwise.

Argus, Talksport, for some hours now, before official.

The same talkSPORT that was claiming it was "a done deal" earlier in the day? Full of BS, all of them, and nobody seems to have updated their stories. Only too quick to run the "Gus is going" story, but less keen on following it up with the actual outcome.

And I won't even start on the amount of rubbish, speculation, and baseless arguments that have appeared on here - my particular highlight being someone reporting a meeting room was booked at Gatwick, for Gus, Barber, and Reading bods. :ffsparr:

I seem to recall it being the same about Wolves, and it will be the same about another club in the summer. Will he stay? Who knows, but I guess what this does teach us is don't believe anything you read, because the likelihood is that someone that *actually* knows something - in this case Naylor - will tell you the truth, which happens to be the complete opposite!

Now's the time to do one gimpy. You've been shown up, now jog on.

Ps easy win at the Amex? Hugely lucky win if I recall. Bye bye.

Please don't kid yourselves, just because your talented manager has said no to us, it doesn't mean you are better than us, as you clearly are not and won't be for a considerable amount of time. Lucky win or not, we beat you. Its winning games what wins you leagues, not playing tika-taka football and not even finishing in the play-off mix.
