Holloway and Watford loans

Watford have 10 loanees, mostly from Udinese but some from Grenada, a Spanish club also owned by the Pozzo family. The other is Chalobah from Chelski, the only one that counts towards their quota.
Incidentally, Forestieri is the only one they have signed permanently so far.

They've found a loophole, they're exploiting it, well done them. At some point it'll probably be closed and they will find another.

Oh and Holloway is a :tosser:

I agree with his sentiments; but they way he portrayed them and with the timing, it just made him look spiteful because they didn't win. It's been like that the whole season, why not express that opinion before the game in a more candied manner?

Whilst I am no fan of the loan system and would happily see it abolished Holloway has made himself out to be a complete numpty here...Which is nothing new as he has always been a prize plum.

Mainly because he fails to realise that Palace had 5 loan players on the field so he is being somewhat hypocritictal...Plus out of the 2 teams Watford had more players from their academy playing than Palace did.

Holloway has always been a dick-head and he now could not be managing a more apt club.

Albion & England forever.

I agree that Holloway is a twat but the fact remains that had Watford not signed Forestieri permanently they could have played a whole team of loanees perfectly legally. Palace on the other hand were restricted to 5

Palace fielded FIVE loan players in that match.

Zaha hardly counts considering he's our player until the end of the season. He's only a loan because it makes the rules less fiddly.

Our loan players are Dobbie, Phillips, Richards and Butterfield. All of these are squad players and have only been loaned because of injuries to the first team. In Watfords case, their loanees almost all usually start.

Out of interest, how have Watford 'abused the system', I don't particularly agree with how they have gone about it but loopholes in sport are there to be found and used for advantage. (This is is something that is seen in lots of sports F1 being a good example where teams find ways around technical regulations)

Considering their position in the table you have to say it paid off?

In the same way I assume you support these celebs and other rich people who exploit tax loopholes to do a bit of avoidance eh!?

You are correct but sadly that is the system and as I said, if I had my way, I would do away with the loan system and maybe only use it for emergencies, like it used to be.

The fact remains though, that Holloway's team had only one less player than Watford did in that game and less players that came through their academy than Watford did!

Albion & England forever.

Funny Hollaway never mentioned this until they played Watford....but he does have a point about loan players....until he looks at his loan players....should be restricted to three but can only play two....

Here's a copy of email I received from Football league when I queried it following our game with Watford. As you can see, they suggest it will be changed but not clear whether overseas loans will be brought into line with our system or vice versa. One can only hope that it is the former. Holloway is a moron if he only realised the day of the game against Watford, that on top of the fact his penchant for being in front of a camera.

Watford utilise a flawed system as the worst case scenario is a team winning promotion without one permanent employee in the team.

Thank you for your reply. There are no regulations regarding loans from overseas, except our Welsh Clubs that fall under our domestic system. It expected this regulation will be amended from next season.
There is no limit on how many foreign loans a Club can have although clubs are restricted to some degree by the ‘homegrown players’ regulation.

Please see regulation 33.7 The Football League | About Us | Regulations | Regulations Detail | Section 5 - Fixtures for details on the homegrown rule.

Kind Regards

His other point was about all the English players who are missing out on the opportunity to play at this level, which got me thinking about the three Egyptians on show yesterday. Could have been four if there other lad had played. Then you have the five Spaniards turning out for us.

As much as I love the football you do worry about the opportunities that the likes of Forster-caskey will get.

He was spot on but like any of these things(dodgy billionaire owners, loan loopholes, etc) we wouldn't complain if it was us!.

So have we all dreamt about Winifred signing for Man United ? I thought the only reason he was loaned back to Palarse for the remainder of the season was the deal-breaker proviso that CPFC2010 insisted on after saying he wouldn't go for anything less than £20M. How can Winifred be your player now CPFC2010 have sold him ?

How did he not know about the situation until Friday?

Yes, I agree. I found his statement very hard to believe that until that evening he knew nothing about it. Surely this means one of two things. Either Holloway is a complete liar or he is completely incompetent as a manager. Either way, he fits in well at the sorry excuse for a club that is crystal palace.

The man is an idiot. Why ? Because he openly admits he did not realise that Watford had all those quality players on loan from abroad prior to Fridays match.
