Why, when pretty much any game and sport can be betted on would criminal gangs choose to fix the most watched and scrutinised league in the world? Also the money involved in corrupting the Premier League would be so much higher. It makes no sense imo.
You can't place twenty ten thousand pound bets on an Albanian third division match. It would completely swamp all other betting on the match and no bookie would take the bets. If you place those bets on an EPL match there's a chance the bets would be lost in the noise.

How many cards were handed out before the Dunk red card?
You're really sticking with your assertion that 1 yellow card (Adingra) by the 71st minute means the players had lost control?

The contentious point is the Dunk yellow.
That was the flash point.
What was it for?

I'm a bit of a stickler for rules (which I know makes me hard to please and a bit boring) but if we are talking about applying the letter of the law, advantage doesn't come into it. I think it sits in this category in the rule book, but it may be referred to elsewhere too:

DELAYING THE RESTART OF PLAY

Referees must caution players who delay the restart of play by:
  • appearing to take a throw-in but suddenly leaving it to a team-mate to take
  • delaying leaving the field of play when being substituted
  • excessively delaying a restart
  • kicking or carrying the ball away, or provoking a confrontation by deliberately touching the ball after the referee has stopped play
  • taking a free kick from the wrong position to force a retake
I had realised that there could be a yellow card for kicking the ball away but had not appreciated the wording. The law states that "Referees must caution players who delay the restart of play". That means that it is mandatory to caution a player in such circumstances. The only subjective element is whether it delays the start of play. That means that referees are probably not applying the laws on many occasions.

Because of exactly your response. People don't want to believe it so they ignore it.
It goes a long way to explain the weird decisions by referees. The inconsistency in their decisions. It makes more sense when you consider that they are influencing how much of something happens or how soon it is until something happens.

If it is not this they need to open up, become more transparent and admit they are not up to the level they need to be and improve.

The bit about delaying the restart of a game clearly didn't apply to the Forest player's who continuously stood over the ball to delay play after conceeding free kicks.
For me the criticism of Taylor was the reluctance to make the big decisions but the ease to brandish cards for petty offences.

I am reminded of the Johnson interpretation of difference between 'should' (its up to you, do what you feel is best) and must (you have to do it).

Perhaps in football its the other way round. And 'get in the sea' is an invitation to join Judith Chalmers on a summer holiday in the Maldives.

I would love Sky or someone to go through over a whole match with a ref, and get them to see how many yellows they would have to give out in a game, if these rules were followed to the letter. I reckon almost every other week substition for a side leading would lead to a booking.
I have never seen anyone booked for not taking a throw in.
The kicking the ball away is booked probably once every three times it happens in a game.
The one that's guaranteed to get a booking is the keeper taking too long over a goal kick, but never usually an outfield player.

Nope, I’m referring to the original point made by Zefarelli that

“by the time Dunky was rightly (but harshly) sent off, Taylor was handing out yellow cards like they were trick or treat sweets at Halloween”

IMO Taylor was not handing out yellow cards like they were trick or treat sweeties at Halloween by the time ‘Dunky’ was sent off because there were only two cards by that point.

It was Zerberdi, not Zefarelli.

Otherwise, you keep on man.

Complete loss of control from the incompetent bald prick within 15 minutes of the start. The players are all at the absolute pinnacle of their professional sport. Taylor is a million miles off that, he knows it, we all know it. I have no idea what EP was watching.

It's interesting re the gambling angle. It's easier to bribe those involved in sports who might need the money a bit more - those "scraping" a living in the greyhounds and horse racing world, lower level snooker players (not much money in snooker for many). Wouldn't trust any betting in those, too likely to be bent. No idea how much Premier football referees earn but it'll sure be peanuts compared to the players.... so maybe refs can be bought. Hope not but I wouldn't be greatly surprised.

He will do so without me 😂
While I'm at it, I'm almost certain you mean "agree to disagree", not "beg to differ" on the two or three occasions you've written the latter on this thread. "Beg to differ" is literally asking for an argument.
I accept that it's possible you're just being remarkably passive aggressive.
