The crown in Eastbourne.
Harvey's and hophead plus a guest ale.
Music quiet so you can hear conversation

I probably know you by sight Superphil, you don't come in with your better half by any chance?

Well some call her better, so I guess so, say hello next time, be great to put a face to a name.

Should really be The Cleveland, and when I resume drinking (in a period of abstinence at the mo) will give it a go. Quite like The Signalman as my local hostelry of choice for now though.

The Anchor in Hartfield. No TV, no fruit machines, no pool table - just Harveys and great food. Only time I venture past that these days is in Lewes on matchdays. Sometimes do bother to venture to The Gallipot which is ok. NO point anymore with The Hatch in Colemans Hatch as the landlord is a bellend. Hates the cricket club there, who now drink in The Gallipot and is only interested in people wearing Hunter Wellies, driving 4x4's and wearing Gillet's and eating overpriced bland food.

Closest is the Dyke Tavern, although when it was tarted up it was charging a small mortgage for a round of drinks so tended to avoid it. Now of course, its full of screaming under 10's running around everywhere so a definite no no. Now happy to walk down to either the Prestonville or Good Companions (a bit of a struggle to get served, but not a bad atmosphere now its been tarted up).

Two places I'd class as my local, The R&R Tavern and Ete. Around a £1 for a decent beer in both places and a good selection of food for between £1 and £4. Live music, a weekly quiz and sometimes the football at R&R. DJ sets at Ete. Ete definitely wins in terms of attractive barmaids.

Shakespeare's Head used to be my local when I lived in Brighton. Do they still specialise in Sausage and Mash? Is Shervin still there?

Mine's should be the Park View. Its just across the road. But the service is so shit I never go in there. The Brewery Tap blares crappy old Elvis songs at stupid volumes, so that only leaves the Crown & Anchor. Pretty dead, but they do a nice Sunday roast.
why not give the stanmer park a go ?:D Or on a more serious note, the cleveland.

I live near clapham junction. My local is called the eagle. Its a fantastic local, seven or eight guest real ales at any one time, quiz on a Sunday, normally packed, big screens for matches, particularly lively for rugby but also footy, last night it was heaving. Only one thing, eagle by name and eagle by nature... Let's just say I'm not welcome in my Brighton shirt

*SHUDDER* Used to live round the corner in Hollingbury Road and it put me off that pub for life. This was in the Eighties and by all accounts its hardly changed for the better in all that time

Or on a more serious note, the cleveland.

Good call. Used to be a regular port of call when my kids were little. They'd play in Blakers Park and I'd, ahem, closely supervise them from across the road. Still drop in there sometimes on my way back from football. Thats another pub that seems to have barely changed from the Eighties, and I mean that in a good way.

This is soon to be my local. Still on a bangers & mash ting, not sure of landlord as I don't really use it at the moment.

Current local in the Prince George. Big in the game. Easter All festival on over the next few days, should be well worth a look if you're in the area.

My local is the rather lively Hikers Rest. Don't go in there much, but also in the summer the Swan in Falmer, as I like the rural feeling of it. I also got a kick out of wearing my Albion shirt before we got the stadium, just to wind the old buggers up.

Closest would be the Hen and Chicken, however i would say i would go to The Lintot in Southwater more, when I am home.

It's alright in there...a bit bog standard but a lot better than anything else in Southwater currently (the Cock Inn was unbearable at times).

For me, i've not got a 'regular', more 'a few pubs i go into more than others'. these include:

The Black Rabbit - Arundel
The Sportsman - Amberley
The Black Horse - Byworth (used to be great, but now it's 2 men and a dead dog)
The Swan - Fittleworth (was my regular before i moved)
The White Horse - Sutton
The George & Dragon - Houghton

All very 'village'y pubs, but have decent food and good ales on

My local for football is my sofa. Comfy seat, cheap beer, no queuing! Perfect!
