The guy who tweeted it is clueless. Probably will be gone in summer along with the 10 others whose deals have < 1 year

Thats nice and optimistic. :ffsparr:

I'm sure Uncle Tony will just wave them off (or drive them in now new Skoda) after all the money he's invested in the club.

He may like the idea of playing alongside Antonio. 60 million if he wants to go. Otherwise he stays.

With the transfer window about to slam shut tomorrow night it isn't just about the money, we have next to no time to source a replacement.

Dan Burn we can do without and have ready made replacements for, Leando Trossard . . . not so much.

We'll see stories like this about all our players that are out of contract in '23 as clubs try opportunistic bids and agents plant stories with useful idiots to inflate the salary negotiations.

Agree no chance we sell on Jan, but heading into the summer with bissouma, Trossard & Maupay with 12 months left is a scary thought - or probably £60M+ of signings to replace them

Pretty sure Biss will go in the summer (there's an outside chance he'll go in this window) for a large fee but also for one lower than the expectations of many on here (see also: BDB)
I can see Tross going too, either this summer or next
Maupay, quite optimistic that we'll announce a new deal before the summer.

Might be wrong on all or some of this.

I agree completely with your assessment, suspect that's what will happen.

West Ham have ‘enquired’ about Trossard. Real shame if we can’t get a new deal agreed for him
Tony's probably still laughing.

We don't sell such a key player with only 32 hours of the transfer window left to replace him.

Just a bit worried we are being seen as a selling club which will encourage other clubs to make enquiries and bids!

Pretty sure Tony isn't. He wants us to be seen as a selling club, but he knows that he'll only sell for what is a decent price. He then invests that money in emerging talent, who can take advantage of our world class facilities, top coaching and other advantages and then find their way into the laps of bigger clubs (provided they meet Tony's asking price). And repeat.

Very well put.

What vision TB had when a few years ago he took on a club without a stadium, an average League 1/Championship squad, a manager with puffed up ambitions and severe limitations, some rough ground next to the A27 at Lancing. All we had was planning permission for a stadium.

And look at us now. Selling centre backs to Arsenal and Newcastle for over £60m in the same season, playing a level of football admired by experts, fans and non fans and on target for our highest ever EPL finish. And that’s just the start……..

Well, we are a selling club, us and 16 to 17 other clubs in the league. We will only sell when the deal is right for us though! Unfortunately we will always be a selling club if one of the richer clubs come calling! It is what our financial model is!

Just been listening to TS and the two presenters were doing a kind of ‘mid season review’ with each nominating their player and manager of the season so far. One picked Cucurella, the other picked Webster (‘has to get a callup now’), and for the manager one picked Potter.

Cucrella wins top mop of the year, and I think Potters maturing ginger 'n' grey Chin Fluff wins beard of the season.

How soon is now?

I’ve been saying this for years. There are only really 3 non selling clubs, and one of those has hit severe financial problems recently because they over stretched themselves
