It is still the responsibility of middle management to ensure what happens behind the scenes does not affect the 'shop floor'. Anyway what if that sales manager had told everyone he is leaving the company then got called into the bosses office and told to do the job he is hired to do?

Are you suggesting that someone else should take some of the blame for the 2nd leg? The manager should always take responsibility for setting the team up, ensuring a sense of occasion in the players, identifying and planning how to neutralise the biggest threats and exploiting weaknesses...

People in football know why Poyet was sacked but football is like the masons, they keep schtum and look after themselves. I have read that the Bloom family including Tony is very very well respected in boards up and down the country. It wouldn't matter if other chairman knew the specifics but...

It's interesting that there is a group of people who will swear blind he won't win and another who'll swear blind he'll win. Can't both be right.
