I'm currently drying a pair of jeans in front of my gas fire, and would like to know if this is costing me any extra money?

I daresay that most cities (and towns?) worldwide suffer with traffic congestion, so with the technological advances that have been made, I wonder if any of them employ 'smart' traffic management?
By this I mean a system that observes where pinch points are, and instructs the lights to stay...
