Just out of interest, which train do you get in the morning? Will soon be moving to HH from Hassocks. Can always get a seat at Hassocks, but my train is sometimes full by time it gets to HH.

I'm concerned about a lot of people's sinus problems on the trains. Victoria station has been fun the past couple of weeks; lots of bags, kids, tourists and tour groups to contend with!

Had big problems with Talk Talk. Months of trying to work out what the problem with the line was (speeds not reaching anything above 0.1mbs). Had a BT engineer out to check the line, nothing wrong with it, said it was a problem with Talk Talk. They said there was no problem with the connection...

I'd say Supersize vs Superskinny does the complete opposite. Not sure how it's exploiting people really.

Is the problem that is being paid a bonus at all, or just the amount that bothers people? As £1m in terms of Government spending is a drop in the ocean (well, assuming it's taxed, then it wouldn't be £1m). And if the government did refuse and let him go, how much do you think they would have to...

His blogs are worth a read but yes they are negative. You get acclaim for predicting when bad things happen. If you get it wrong, then things get better so people forget easier.

May I ask how they have done this?

Looking to get a Kindle for Christmas. I read a lot of non-fiction and quite specific at that, so charity shops and used book shops are not very useful to me. I could buy these books at bookshops but they're more expensive and bulky.

Aren't they increasing fares year on year above inflation so that more of the costs fall on train users rather than the public as a whole?

I was under the impression (perhaps incorrectly) that off-peak tickets could rise by any amount and that only the above formula related to season tickets? I'd expect they've increased the ticket prices recently before the winter.
