Online there’s also a very old photo of it as a cafe, perhaps at a time when the demon drink was frowned upon :lolol:
Yes, you have jogged my memory about it being a cafe. To be honest it may have been a cafe with a small shop at the front.
I lived off Bear Road and sometimes played football on the pitches over Whitehawk, we would call into the shop/cafe for sweets on the way home.

Long before our time.

Perhaps a sweet shop later on?

Most fit people could manage to walk back into Brighton. It's a long boring walk for sure, but it's not an arduous one. As for parking, well maybe just think outside the box a little bit. There is free parking available in Brighton, you just need to do a little bit of research to find it. And there's an extensive network of free-on-matchdays buses to help you navigate from your researched parking space to/from the town centre. Besides, there are trains into Brighton after the match
I live in Kent, and many live a long way from a walk into Brighton.

Used to! THPP reckons there are trains after next 2 games- very much doubt they will get me back to Kent?!
As things stand, the trains won't take you further than Brighton. That's a shit state of affairs for sure, and I feel gutted for anybody completely reliant on the trains. But it was you that brought up 'snaffling parking spaces' and I was pointing out that there were plenty to be 'snaffled' in Brighton

The snaffling I was referring to was parking at Uni etc. Always a bun fight/luck to get.

Looks like the Brighton —> Lewes shuttle isn’t running either so Lewes will be a squash and a squeeze

Sounds like the same service that it was for Luton (H) . That was - for me and anecdotally others - fine heading to Falmer. I think coming back would also have been ok if it hadn't been disrupted by the line trespass issues.

I would say leave a little bit earlier, but other than that yes, it will be the same as Luton. There’s only a deficit of 8 carriages per hour based on a normal game.

Correct, should all be 8 carriages, and last train about 10pm I think.

Any idea whether there'll be a similar service for Newcastle next Saturday? Especially going back up to London...

Bit confused by the wording of the ASLEF action for the 2nd

We're in the S/W corner for the Toon game. Will we just be able to walk past the away fans to get the to Racecourse P&R busses or will we be made to walk all the way round the stadium. Only other time I've used P&R we were in the South East which was handy.

I can't see a reason why you wouldn't be able to just go past the away supporters, many of them will be getting the buses anyway.
The times I've used P&R I haven't seen any segregation.

Not sure at the moment, it should be similar. ASLEF is overtime ban.
