talking of keepers (and especially bad ones) Graeme Smith has let in 6 for Hibs at Hamilton tonight after his side were 6-2 up! He dropped a few clangers at the weekend too...absolute dross of a keeper even by scottish football standards (mind you, he somehow managed to SAVE A PENALTY in amongst all that, after he had given it away!)

I suspect it might come down to money.

In terms of testimonial, I doubt very much it is a contractual agreement with the club as part of the way to get it tax free is the club taking no part in the organisation of it apart from loaning the team.
