He needs to get booked for dissent or kicking the ball away tomorrow and hope Plymouth play on New Years Day and sign for us on 3rd Jan. He then serves his suspension on New Years Day so wont get injured and is clear then to start with us with a clean sheet.

If not provided he gets booked in the next game he will miss the cup game against Portsmouth which is not a problem.

The cup game won't count as he would be cup tied for that anyway. It would be a League game for the suspension.

Just checked it out he did play in their first round defeat at home to Swindon so he is cuptied so we will have to hope Plymouth play 2 games before he signs for us.

I think most people are basing their views on what Marcus Painter said about how difficult he was to play against. I think it was Brian Clough who wanted to sign a striker so asked his players who was the best they had played against.

What a good question....................and now we're worrying about how many bookings a potential signing might have, jeeze, what a load of serial pessimists on here !
So now we have, is it on, will it sell out, will he sign , is he good , how many bookings has he got, doesn't matter 'cos he's cup-tied............etc.........etc........

that was my point....ive seen him a few times and looks quailty but makes me laugh the way people base all there hopes on us signing a player they have never seen play ! in the summer people were claiming our hopes all depended on us signing barnes !!! id be delighted if we signed noone he is just the sort of player we need performing week in week out in league one has had a taste of the championship and is still only 23? but think its a bit early just because theres a story in the sun to be worrying about how many bloody bookings he has

havent searched so may already be on here but there is a bit in our local paper this morning claiming it was a substanstial 6 fiqure bid from us that was turned down

RIVAL clubs are circling cash-strapped Plymouth Argyle ready to snap up some of their top players in the January transfer window.

I could be wrong but the last player we signed from Plymouth was Gary Nelson wasn't it ? He did okay.

Excellent if true.

What's the Sun's record for accuracy in its transfer speculation?

FourFourTwo last season placed them 3rd...ahead of the mirror, der sturmer (the mail) and rest of the tabloids. In second and first place were the Guardian and Torygraph respectively.

however there accuracy was around 38%; Guardians 48%; Torygraph 65%.

I have seen him once (our game at Home Park earlier this season). He was very good - tricky and fast. Not quite as explosive as Lua Lua, but can definitely open up defences. I'm assuming we've had him watched a few more times just in case it was a flash in the pan!
