Maybe, just maybe the speculation has been correct?

Just a small piece in the Sun:

Plymouth have agreed to sell Craig Noone to Brighton for a fee of £250,000 in January.

This ties in with the todays Argus lead story on the back page with Marcus Painter saying he would love Noone to join the team and goes on to say how tricky the winger was in the fixture at Home Park, and that Ashley Barnes has said he is a very good player.

Excellent if true.

What's the Sun's record for accuracy in its transfer speculation?

What's the Sun's record for accuracy in ANY speculation?

As i've said before given the amount Poyet has talked up Noone & how he'd fit into the team then i'm sure that's tapping up if we don't have him.

Silly old bat
As the window opens on Jan 1st, assuming he signs straightaway, would he be eligible for the Orient game?

Spoke with a player from the West Country over Christmas and he has also been told that Noone is on the move but he couldn't confirm it is Brighton - sorry. [Source: is credible and genuine and can be corroborated by others on NSC].

You DO NOT argue with that NSC! With all the bullshit and bluster on here about player signings over the days, weeks and months leading up to Xmas, this is the first bit of bonafide, 126% concrete evidence that Noone is definately, unquestionably, undeniably, unequivocably on the move.

Plymouth say they want to hang on to him Noone still wanted but Swindon said that Greer and unlike Plymouth they weren't potless.

.........................but not where to

:)

seriously, after Poyet bigged him up a fortnight ago and even Naylor talked about it as a done deal it would be a major shock if he didn't sign on 1st January and hopefully play at Exeter

Not claiming it's a scoop Caveman. Just supports everyone's belief that Noone is on the move. Wasn't really in a position to ask this guy to get on the phone to his chums at Plymouth to get a destination club during a party.

Would love to see Noone at Brighton. Will be gutted if he goes somewhere else.

I buy the Sun purely for football reasons and they are pretty much spot on.

Fair enough, I think everyone at Plymouth totally expect BWP and Noone to go in January, followed by others. Sad times for them, but lets hope we can help them and ourselves by getting Noone (and BWP if at all possible). ;)

I don't have that much sympathy for Plymouth given the fact that in the past we've had to sell players to stay afloat. Dean Saunders for £60000 was daylight robbery for example.
