So two fit defenders for Saturday? Very clever.

I blame CMS, if he was ANY good at attacking we would't be defending ALL the time and our defenders wouldn't be knackered!

I don't get this play Hammond at centre half or Bridcutt at full back, it's horses for courses and they are midfielders. Playing those two out of position would weaken midfield are we saying play Harley and drop two key midfieldrs back into defence?

While I feel for Gus I do blame him for having no defenders on the bench on Saturday, even if it was a centre half from the Developement Squad put them on the bench and give them expereince or is Gus saying that none of the young lads are good enough to step up.

Gus's role is to cover all eventualities and he didn't.

Great idea, a manager so good he has been on the dole for the last FOUR years.

With intelligence such as yours, why aren't you running the country?

Instead of insults why not offer an alternative?????....... to show your not a dunce either...

FROM THE FA WEBSITE RULEBOOK
2 yellow cards - 1 match
Denying obvious goal scoring opportunity - 1 match
Offensive/insulting/abusive language or gestures - 2 matches
Serious foul play/violent conduct/spitting at an opponent or any other person - 3 matches

Well that's me out for Charlton & Forest then, after my Selhurst behaviour ! :(

We have Crofts, Lopez, Lualua, and Dicker to come in ahead of Harley. Maybe even Dobbie or Hoskins could play as an attacking central midfielder or deep lying forward if Gus chooses to go that way.

I think you'll find his alternative is stop with the ridiculous suggestion of getting rid of Gus and get behind him.

Agreed and that's football we are very unlucky to have 4 injury's all being in the defence and you really can't blame Gus for dunks stupitidy

Thats a bit harsh on Dunk he was trying to recover Brunos Poor back pass, i have seen plenty of worse tackles this season where the player has either got off scot free or been handed a yellow

Back four of

Bridcutt - Greer - El-Abd - Calderon

Not bad to be honest; Crofts and I'm sure Barnes/Hammond can play RB too

Indeed it is. I am really struggling to understand why at a time we are enjoying the most profound, obvious and signficant renaissance of this football club, we seem to hear more and more intellectually-challenged morons shouting louder and louder.

Saturday was a nightmare. We were poor and we had lost any chance of getting something from the game after 7 minutes.

However in the context of the broader picture we are moving forwards every month, every season.

Now there seems to be a level of ludicrous, irrelevant scrutiny of the manager, the food, the queues, the stewards, the pies, the toilets, the beer, the sweeties.......

Is it because there is a mass increase in the number of socially inept imbeclies are now able to reach a greater audience with forums such as NSC? Is it because after masturbating furiously to another episode of The Big Bang Theory, they win the Championship on Football manager? Is it because their impotent rage and need for thrills is no longer sated after another three hours on Call of Duty?

Or is it simply that we have a larger ratio of utter crettins who have access to the internet and no parental controls to stop them from introducing their mind-numbing, staggeringly tiny little brains and the retarded, mypoic opinions that come stumbling out of their tiresomely over-active gobs?

Not sure which it is but it's making this forum become depressingly unattractive as a place to visit from time to time.

Very sad. especially when one thinks back to the era in which NSC was created and the massive force for good that it represented. Now its populated by bothersome little oiks desperate for some air-time. What worries me more than anything is the frightening disparity between what they hammer out on their keyboards and what is happening in the real world.

So so sad.

So someone doesn't agree with your view of how things are progressing and they are subjected to all that abuse. Classy.

You say "However in the context of the broader picture we are moving forwards every month, every season." That is your opinion. Not everybody agrees with it so when we have a big defeat they vent their frustrations.

Please explain your justification that we are progressing.

In a nutshell, we might as well enjoy the rest of the season with no pressure.

We may well sneak into the playoffs, but to make the next step and get into the top 2 and stay there, we need to sign a striker of proven ability at this level.

Until then the best we can hope is to win the lottery of the playoffs, if we get there, and there's not a lot of point in getting stressed about results from now on in.

The day we sign the striker is the day we can think about promotion.

This is my point we are further looking at playing players out of position, if the midfield ain't broke why fix it. There must be an alternative in the Developement Squad or is selection based on a pecking order.

So, we have as starters:

Bruno
Greer
El Abd
Bridge

with non-playing back up options of:

Calderon
Dunk
Painter

And apparent further (midfield changing) options of

Bridcutt
Orlandi
Hammond

10 players for 4 spots, and people are upset that we didn't keep a further 3 or 4?

This sort of injury/suspension list in one area of the field is not so common that it's worth keeping lots of spares around. It's a burden on the wage structure and on the morale of the squad for those that see no way in other than lots of injuries to team mates.

Spot on.....reasonbility rules!

No we're not. That's my point, dicker and crofts moving into midfield in place of hammond and bridcutt is not them playing out of position. Bridcutt started at full back, and Hammond is a defensive minded player. Players who have shown an ability to perform at this level (generally speaking), under pressure, who can fill a need.

Perhaps the DS defenders aren't good enough yet, or perhaps there is a fear that putting them in in such circumstances could do more harm than good. Perhaps some people just aren't sure which ones play in which position so avoid suggesting them for fear of embarrassing themselves.

The suggestion of Hammond and Bridcutt in defence is merely one highlighting the flexibility of our squad to deal with an extreme circumstance of so many injuries in one area of the field, in response to the idea that we should have had a third player for each position, just in case.

That is what I think Gus will do if El Abd, Bridge Bruno Orlandi and Painter are all injured.
