Interesting to see that Clark Carlisle is quick to defend Rio in relation to the T shirt issue, and I would expect nothing else of a union rep, but was totally silent when Clint Dempsey, another of his members, went on strike earlier this year so he could try to engineer a move to Liverpool.

I'd have thought that any individual's stance on racism is a deeply personal matter for that player and should always transcend team orders.

So you'd be quite happy for a white player's stance to bethe same as david james i.e , it really isnt there anymore and the kick it out campaign is a waste of time and effort ? because i for one havent heard racist abuse at a football game since, well i literally cant remember.

Same here. You do get occasional comments, we had some last year at the Albion, but very much isolated.

Worthing
The FA suggested that Cole's evidence had "evolved" to suit Terry's defence. Hard to see how that places him in the right.

Ok I get you. The honkys must have got to him.

Did they elaborate on this evolved evidence because Cole seemed pretty annoyed at that accusation.

No. I repeat what I said in my post. It should be down to the individual, else its just going through the motions. John Terry for one should clearly opt out. As for racist abuse, last time I heard monkey noises was in Italy about a year ago, directed by Bologna fans against Clarence Seedorf who was playing for AC Milan. Every single time the guy came up to take a corner. Was pretty much bemused at hearing that, sort of assumed that kind of thing had died out along with Love Thy Neighbour. Shows how far the UK has come in that respect tho eh? At least in public.

you ascribe a totally imagined nobility to all this farcical attention seeking idiocy, playing right into the hands of someone like ferdinand.

So Ferdinand doesn't wear a T-shirt which supports kick racism out of football. Very sensible Rio,wouldn't it have been better to wear it to show how much you support the campaign. Not rocket science son. Or is it all about you?
