I realise that most supporters of other teams who post inflammatory comments about us are quickly banned. What I don't get though, is why threads they start are allowed to remain.

The damage is done if their opening comments are still there for everyone to read.

I am amazed that people are so sensitive. Of course we will get shit from other fans and I am sure some of our fans have posted inflammatory stuff on other forums? If you are easily upset or offended don't read or respond to it. Its trolling and to be expected on this sort of forum. Why the shock horror?

It's not a case of being over-sensitive.

My point was that there are some threads on here that are posted just to antagonise us, which then result in page after page of expletive-filled replies. It's then a case of who can write the best put-down. Nothing to do with football, or anything else to that matter.

If we are talking about something Crystal Palace related, I would expect their fans to comment. Dare I say it, some respond in a reasonable way.

My original point was, why ban a user but leave their thread for all to see? Bozza answered that.

I like the idea of monitoring new members, and restricting what they can post.

if someone said something inflamatory about the quality of my jam, some of the lads would be straihgt round and have a word.

can't say to much as OB might be watching, just say that someone might find the number of their door had been tippexed out. ??? That would learn them

I have always considered myself a sensitive flower, .......... but I don't get upset by this stuff, and some of them are so pathetic they are really funny. I sometimes wonder whether to respond with some sort of sarcastic putdown, but usually don't bother on the basis that they would not understand it.

I don't think ANY NSC'ers are anywhere near them..... and that is not a "could try harder" sort of comment, more a "well done NSC"..... but in a non-patronising way, of course..

not sure how the "right wing press " can print some of the tripe that's attributed to him without being sued as it would seemingly amount to slander/libel....anyway as long as we've got our football , beer and porn we're all happy aren't we....???

Are you suggesting that I....drink beer ? I'm a cider man.

Temporary block/restrictions on new members eminently sensible considering the volume of oppo trolls posting in recent days and likely to increase after the next few games.

Hope the NSC Mod team are thinking ahead to next season as this could be quite a regular occurrence in the Premier League :D #believe

What damage is done? Providing it's nothing that crosses the line - racism, homophobia etc. - then I don't see the problem.

It's also quite amusing when rival fans posing as Brighton fans are outed due to registering using the same email address as their Twitter or Facebook accounts.

Eh? You're usually one of the first ones to get a strop on

They shouldn't be banned full stop anyway....no reason to ban them and the mods need to grow some and stop sulking because we get rival fans on here.None of these posters have been abusive and most have constructed good posts and have valid reasons.

Don't deny having a strop on Saturday while it was all still raw, but I don't think I've ever called for a ban or for a thread to be removed. I just tell people to **** off.

Can't say I'm sulking about it. The only people who've been kicked off are the ones who've registered in recent days purely so they can come on and post things like "Haha, **** off benders, you're staying down LOL".

There are still plenty of decent opposing fans posting.

Mostly doesn't bother me as can ignore but it has been a bit annoying the last couple of days but that is just down to us being successful. Can't imagine Reading get a whole lot of trolls.

Says the man who is offended by my avatar. Suppose that's somehow different though, right?

I am offended by the hypocrisy.

If you can't tell the difference, then you are obviously more than a bit thick, which would go some way to explain your choice of avatar depicting a child victim of the Nazi holocaust, that you find humorous.

Just a thought, Bozza, maybe you could restrict new posters to replies only.
Make it so that they can't start new threads until they've posted a minimum number of posts ie 100.

I actually preferred NSC when there was less censorship, but can see that as it gets bigger and we get more succesful there will be a growing need. However, this may be a good idea, as it can be automated so won't take up mods time, and very few of the complete :tosser: will have the patience to hold it together for 100 posts (or probably 20 !)

(PPF and HB&B being the exceptions that prove the rule)

There's a world of difference between a Burnley fan writing that Brighton are crap on a social forum and taking the piss out of a little girl who was torn away from her parents and then gassed to death and her body dumped in an oven with others to burn.

If you can't see any difference then you have a problem.
