I'm regularly in Lancing and passing the entrance to the training ground. Up until last season I think I'd seen kids waiting on Mash Barn Lane maybe 4 or 5 times in total over the years. Since last season it's common to see that many at once lining the road and it's a regular occurrence now.

Sounds extremely wet but that’s society today . We have to have the whole rules to keep everyone safe . ….: or at least be seen to have them to keep up with everything

Stay safe out there .

Shame but does seem it was becoming unmanageable, the crowds outside east stand were getting silly.
And who abuses someone for not giving a selfie / autograph?
Entitlement. I work in theatre and witness stage door twattery nightly. Many feel they are owed an autograph/selfie as part of their ticket price.

So if an actor uses an another exit, has to rush for their train, is meeting a partner, has their kids around, has a migraine, hates the general public etc they are often complained about/abused in social media and even to their face.

It’s mental.

I wish they would also ban those begging “please can I have your shirt” signs, kids and their pushy parents
There are many things* that irritate the shit out of me going to football but this one tops the list. Is it possible those responsible for this blatant begging con job can be given a ten year ban?

*See also - half n’half scarves, Northern types that insist on taking off their shirts, any fan that keeps chanting “Yerkshire! Yerkshire!” in the train queue, Todd Boehly, most of Chelsea, anything to do with Chelsea, all of Chelsea, Tottenham’s supposed fantastic stadium catering, Southern Rail, trespassers on the line after the match.

Really, there are loads more but I just can’t be arsed at the moment.

I wanted to get my shirt signed that my wife got me for my 40th. I live in Sompting so was considering popping over to the training ground and taking one of the kids. But then I realised I’m 40. I just wanted it framed on the wall with a decent signature so I emailed PBOBE to ask if I could send it in and get someone to sign it. He replied (quickly and briefly) with an “afraid not - can’t have it being sold” which never entered my head. But it does make sense to me. Shame on the younger fans though.

It’s a shame when a genuine fan politely asks and can’t be granted their wish. We are in the big league now and sadly are vulnerable to opportunists and organised crime. No one stopped me getting Stuart Tuck’s autograph and photo with my kids!

If you go to the training ground and take one of the kids, you’ll go to jail. Sicko.

Right decision by the club and nice touch selecting kids they know are members once a season.

This is basically halting the commercialisation of Mitomamania. You reap what you sow.

You could always sign it yourself and pretend. It doesn't have to be signed as your name......

This doesn't surprise me at all. I took my boys around to the exit on the East Stand after the Luton game and there must have been a couple of thousand people waiting. We left but the players would never have gotten away if they'd stayed to sign things for every waiting fan, you will always have someone leaving disappointed.
Same. I had a vague idea about hanging around after with my boy, but when I saw the crowd…sod that. Amazed how many people were there.

‘In addition, players have also been subject to abuse from fans, when they have been unable to stop to sign autographs or pose for selfies, which is not acceptable.’

Hoping this is an isolated incident or two.

The shit side of getting ‘big’. Tommy Elphick etc in their Peugeot 106’s etc in the Sportsman car park never had these issues 🤪
