The diaspora of Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars across Russia would have been an asset to Russia, had it been a liberal democracy.

But as it isn't, and as Russia has invaded and brutalised Ukraine and Crimea, the Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar residents in Russia put it at a considerable disadvantage....

Interesting piece about resistance in occupied territories. Kellogg, Witless and Trump should read it but won't.

Ten years ago today I put the following on my Facebook page. Sadly, nothing has changed. Things have simply got a lot worse :-

Vladimir Putin, wanting to get on the good side of voters, goes to visit a school in Moscow, to have a chat with the kids. He talks to them about how Russia is a powerful nation and how he wants the best for the people. At the end of the talk, there is a section for questions and answers. Little Sasha puts her hand up and says "I have two questions. Why did the Russians take Crimea and why is Russia sending troops to the Ukraine?". Putin says, "Good questions", but just as he is about to answer, the bell goes, and the kids go for lunch. When they come back, there is time for some more questions. Another girl, Misha, puts her hand up and says, "I have four questions", Why did Russia invade Crimea? Why are we sending troops to The Ukraine? Why did the bell go 20 minutes early for lunch, and where is Sasha?
so very true, sadly

Nothing on any website I could find but on BBC breakfast breaking news about two bridges collapsing in occupied Ukraine. One was a rail bridge and also took a passenger train with it. Second was a road bridge which came down on top of a freight train. Russia is saying both hit with explosives and 7 dead. Shame about those who died but top marks to the resistance.

Here's the first one:

But the second one, and a third one, were both inside Russia, in Kursk and Bryansk:

More on the train bridge explosions. Geraschenko suggesting false flag for one... no idea

Actually I can believe that, Russia gives a bat shit about civilian lives where Ukraine would not do the same. Bridge attack on military route in southern Ukraine definitely rebels. Not sure what came first but Russia could have easily seen that and thought it would be a good idea to do the same but on Russian territory, kill and injure a few civilians just to make it worse.

I saw a different report on Tendar - I was debating whether to post it, as it looks too good to be true.

Anyone else with other footage - please post.

Now confirmed on BBC

Edit. It is Ukrainian claim rather than verified.

Jonathan Fink discussing who will follow Putin He makes some very valid points.

You'd guess the current admin and siloviki will have plans to promote from within and keep their illicit funds, and control the power vertical.

I personally think there will be a bloody power struggle, and a lot of people falling from balconies.

Crimean Wind on Telegram:

SBU drones flying out of trucks targeted Russian planes attacking Ukraine. The special operation was called "Web".

Four most important airfields of the Russian Air Force were under attack:
🔥 "Olenya"
- long-range aviation airfield of the Russian Federation, Kola Peninsula, Murmansk region (2000 km);
🔥 "Diaghilevo" - airbase, Ryazan region (700 km);
🔥 "Belaya" - military airfield in the Irkutsk region, the first strike on the Amur region and Siberia (4700 km);
🔥 "Ivanovo" is a military airfield in the Ivanovo region (900 km).

According to preliminary data, the consequences of the operation are estimated at more than $2 billion in losses for Russian aviation.

Social networks write that 41 strategic aircraft were destroyed. Another 11 were injured, but spare parts and components are needed to repair them, which Russia does not have.

Among the "irreversible losses" are 6 TU 95 MS missile carriers.

🔥 In terms of economic efficiency, Ukrainian operations have no analogues, says Сlash Report.

The cost of one Ukrainian FPV drone is $300-600, while the modernized Russian strategic bomber Tu-95MS is estimated at more than $100 million. Thus, the difference in cost exceeds 100,000 times.

But most importantly, the destruction of the strategic aviation of the Russian Federation is a blow to its nuclear potential.

🔥 Tu-95 and Tu-160 are the main platforms for launching cruise nuclear missiles. Even their partial loss seriously weakens Russia's ability to strike back.

🔥 A-50 is a long-range radar detection aircraft, a flying radar, the "eyes" of the Russian army.

It was reported that as of March 2024, Russia had 5 such boards left. The destruction of each complicates airspace control, air defense coordination and air operations.

In addition, the Tu-160, Tu-95 and A-50 are Soviet developments, the production of which has either been completely stopped or technically impossible under conditions of sanctions and lack of components

If true, this is a watershed moment.

40+ bombers.
Russia couldn't stop it happening.
And it's in F***ing IRKUTSK ! By Lake Baikal !
Yes, fantastic achievement if verified - and seems credible given the number of sources. Indicates too that the Ukrainian network of undercover operatives is probably far more extensive than anyone thought

I wonder whether a downside of Biden’s military support for Ukraine was that it imposed limitations on the extent to which Ukraine could strike inside Russia. Now that US support has reduced maybe Ukraine feels it has licence to strike where it wants.
