Spot on especially with Cubiano (whatever his name is) interest and rumours that Barco may not be leaving after all. I think Left Back could end up looking pretty stacked. If we could then stop kicking that never ending can down the road of a new specialist Right Back we'd seem pretty sorted.
“Rumors” might be a bit strong - isn’t this just NSC posters reading too much into admin posting a photo of Barco on international duty?

I ‘attended’ the fans forum and Weir’s comments about Barco were exactly what you would expect him to say given the club have not officially acknowledged there is an obligation to buy.

Sometimes when you read some of the comments about our players on here, and especially in this thread, you do come to realise that we have some compete twats supporting us who wouldn’t spot a decent player if they were sat on their knee.
It's the way of nsc nowadays. Our squad is seemingly full of either world class ballers or the absolute dregs of humanity. It just depends on whether a player is rumoured to be on the way out or not.

Defensively, he's been poor for much of the last two seasons. Leading to goals conceded. Veltman shows what good FB defending looks like, Estupinan himself showed it in 2022/23.

Your sentiment was similar on NSC with Maty Ryan, Montoya, Sanchez. People tried to shutdown debate that they could possibly have key faults to their game, apparently one was disloyal for daring to mention them.

I thought I read somewhere that there is clause that meant Strasbourg had to achieve Europa League for the obligation to kick in. I don't have the source to hand for that I'm afraid.

Defensively, I don't think the 24/25 Pervis was as good as in previous seasons, and his attacking stats are damning:

22/23 41 matches, 1 goal, 9 assists
23/24 27 matches, 3 goals, 4 assists
24/25 36 matches, 1 goal, 1 assist

If you look back at 22/23 and ask how did we finish 6th then his contribution was a big part of that breakout season for us. He was stellar until he got that muscle injury in October 2023.

not at all….every player has faults…even Mitoma can be accused of having off days when he will not use his skill to attack full backs…we have all seen it…..what gets my goat is the “ well he is shit” comments ( or of that ilk) when patently he is not. Like a lot of our players, he has come back from a very long injury lay off and has not yet reached the level he was…understandably…but this dismissal of him by some on here is just myopic!

Their first XI is strong.

I'd add JPVH, Rutter, Veltman as the equals or better than their equivalent. After all we did finish 8th.
But they had ten of their first eleven available virtually the whole season. They came 12th. We had the worst injuries in the league by a long way and came 8th. Something doesn’t stack up! But I am not going through all that again.

Early Pervis for us was brilliant. Last two years he has not been the same player. It’s a shame because he is fun.

He really hasn't.

Are you saying he hasn't been giving opponents a push with both hands when they get the better of him? Because he really has. Which risks giving a free kick away in a dangerous area. Which means he is a liability as he risks giving opponents a good chance of scoring. If you disagree with that you could try giving your reasons why rather than a 3 word statement.

Dismissal ... he wants out. I trust the StarLizard algorithm to find equal or hopefully better, we conceded far too many goals last season in general. I see this as an opportunity for us, it doesn't feel like the devastating effect of Macca and Caicedo departing.

He dovetailed brilliantly with Caicedo or Macca, covering each other.

indeed - and against Leicester he did it inside our penalty area.
I couldn't believe it, when I saw him do it.

He seems to have it in his head, that it's an allowable tactic.

Been playing like he wants to leave for a very long time. When he's bad he is really bad. He was a consistant 8/10 when joined. Have to say he's a 5 / 6 most weeks now.

Been a good servant for the club but a parting of ways might be a good thing. We can do better LB IMO

I think his opinion of himself is a bit high though

I'm sure that Marseille would say they run a no-dickhead policy too

They'd point to Elye Wahi - signed for a big fee on a five year contract, didn't perform and had a big old strop apparently, out of the door in January for the same price.

Because it means nothing in reality, the aspiration can be manipulated to mean whatever you want!
No club wanting to demonstrate their NDP, would be looking to bring attention to their signing of Elye Wahi!

According to our fanbase, this seems to be a disease running through the entire squad in the last month!

All these elite international footballers linked with moves to the richest clubs in the world; who do they think they are believing they're good enough to play for a bigger team than us!

Won’t get a boo from me assuming he doesn’t do anything silly before he leaves. Good servant but think we have outgrown each other for different reasons. Getting double the fee we paid is extremely good business.

Ferdi should be first choice next season and I had heard that Strasbourg were obliged to offer us a set fee for Barco which we can enforce but we don’t have to say yes to and he returns like a normal loan. Who knows but odd the club tweets a picture of him the other day.

Ferdi and Barco on rotation would do for me
