I normally hate it when the TV director shows anything away from the pitch but I had a chuckle when I saw Beaky and 'Not Very' on screen holding hands and looking as miserable as sin.

Having watched these I think its remarkable Dunk wasn't sent off against Spurs
Yep…..more force, much more contact, similar height (maybe slightly lower). As well as being generally shite, VARs are also massively inconsistent. Time has come to leave it to the onfield ref to simply take a look - without commentary/opinion from Mr Magoo in Stockley Park - if they feel they need another angle, not have VAR re-reffing the game and dictating outcomes.

I'm not being a contrarian (for a change) it's a shite decision and wouldn't have been given without VAR.

But the boot was inexplicably above the ball and (hardly any) contact was made.

The very type of decision that would have had Roy, palace fans, and pundits screaming for VAR because the referee needs help.
Roy spoke well after the game, he is correct in what he said, straight leg, high and studs is running the risk of being a red in 2024

Without actually agreeing with it

Exactly, as is Dyche if he did say 'nothing looks good in slo-mo'.

Possibly not a popular opinion but there is grudging respect from me to the Palace (and Everton) fans for turning out in reasonable numbers. Cheap tickets obviously, but 24,500 is a decent gate for an FA Cup game on TV on a Thursday night.

As for the red card, shite decision and the cretins running VAR had no business getting involved with it. There have been countless incidents that were clearly far worse where the VAR panel just ignored it. Notably the studs raked down the back of Ferguson's leg by some red bin dipper twat earlier this season.

I've said it before

What needs to happen is after every bad incidents BOTH managers need to come out and say that's an awful decision and put pressure on those running VAR

Won't happen
Flip that as better still would be 'yeah the ref was spot on to send off my captain'.

The ref last night makes the right knee jerk reaction decision, is pretty much told to change it, and then has 15mins of 'you're not fit to referee'.

Everton fans will be gunning for him next time and the cycle continues.

Fair point, both things would be a way to move it forward.

Can't see Howe/Klopp/Arteta doing that, can you?

I think that makes you a goddamn sexual tyrannosaurus - like me
I'm afraid I was watching The Predator not Predator. Which may make me a slack jawed (homophobia deleted)
I think that quote's from Predator (1987). Not the shit movie jacknada watched.....(The Predator, 2018)
Correct. Though it was still better than watching Everton Palace.

It won't happen because they are not going to go against a lawmaking trend designed to limit injuries to players, however unfair it seems to those unlucky enough to get caught in this new crackdown

Sean Dyche said after the match in relation to the red card ‘Nothing looks good on slo-mo’.

He’s clearly never watched European Cumbath 27 on half speed on Pornhub.
