Hoskins will never play again, CM-S who knows and Ulloa 3 months yet by then we are half way through the season. The pity is pretty much everyone has given up on this season after 14 games and nothing from the club or managment has changed that.

Isn't CMS out of contract in the summer? Add to that we will need to invest heavily in the defensive areas, Greer and Upson look like they are nearing their sell by date, ward is on loan and Bruno looks spent.

The club need to invest in the short to medium term or we will be playing in front of 15k and the long term investments won't be worth it if we can't break even.

So who is this alternative choice for manager who would have us fighting at the top of the league with the current available players?

Take the tinted spectacles off with the players we have missing we are where anyone sensible would expect us to be. Take any 3-4 key players from any of the top 6 and they would struggle

Everyone should answer this question, write down your starting 11 from a complete fit squad, I guarantee 100% of you will notice that you would not have been able to play those 11 players once this season. The guy has walked into possibly one of the hardest jobs out there from what happened in the summer. I can't help but think that most of the people who are slagging him off, are not willing to give him any kind of chance because of their love for Gus Poyet. In the 3 1/2 seasons Poyet was out here, did he ever have so many important players out for such a long period of time. Garcia has nothing on the bench at the moment that can change a game either. So if we do get rid of Garcia who do we bring in that can possibly do better with the current team. I like the guy, I like his comments, I think it's refreshing that we have a manager who respects the club and it's supporters. I will judge him when he has a team consisting of Bridcutt, Ulloa and Orlandi and with someone like CMS on the bench.

Oscar was the wrong man for the situation we are in at present, we needed somebody who could make us well drilled and organised and hard to beat.

Oscar is a massive gamble which could go either way, and at the moment I am very worried.

Oscar took the payroll but he seems almost without any fight at all. The guy just seems to think everything is fine. He seems dour, without much of a clue and just a stop gap. Very disappointing.

Lack of goals is one thing but we have looked easy pickings defensively this season and that is my big worry, a team is built from the back with a system. We appear to not have a system.

Really? We have 4 clean sheets in our last 5 away games (something that we never did under Poyet in the Championship, by the way).

I agree. Most were expecting some contacts to be arranging some flair signings or loans. He also promised an exciting attacking brand of football. Not seen either really.

Blimey, I've just had major eye surgery and can't see very much, but even I can see the over-reaction on here!

Take any team; take out the best of their midfield (Bridders & Orlandi); take out there top 2 strikers (Leo and CMS) and what would you be left with?

Add to that the upheaval and we are exactly where I thought we would be - not scoring much, but not conceding too much. In fact, we are creating enough chances for me to be fairly optimistic. We are not going to be in the play-off places at the moment, and anyone who thinks we are is even more blind than I am. We are building, and will have a great second half to the season and will probably miss out again. Anyone who thinks that isn't good enough should trundle off and support Man City or Chelsea.

Oscar has a way of playing that requires players with good first touch and control, and we don't have enough of those left at the moment. We will have in time, but it may be too late for this season. Don't blame Oscar.

We need some perspective here. We are not simply weak through a few injuries.

They are injuries to key players; Ulloa, CMS, Lua Lua, Bridcutt. That hurts.

Three are long term absentees. Hoskins has been out for ever, no fault of his, but he's still on the payroll.

I can't imagine any of the Championship 'big guns' suffering such extraordinarily bad luck and still be hovering around the play offs/auto spots.

I wouldn't expect anyone to be jumping for joy after a 0-0 at Yeovil but considering our circumstances it's not exactly meltdown either is it?

I go with this as well

I don't get the bit about Conway getting slagged off either. He put some great balls into the box today first half but Barnes was to scared to throw his head in there at them
Conway was bound to run out of steam in the second half therefore I would have had a go at them with Solly
But then again I'm not the manager am I !!

Ipswich?

Have shipped some very very soft goals at home. Sign of a poor team.

And we have kept 4 clean sheets out of 5 away from home, despite not playing well - sign of a defensively sound, well organised team. It's all about opinions and your perspective, isn't it?

Happy to disagree.

But to me we are getting worse not better.

Unfortunately our injury list is still getting worse at the moment.

I've only seen the televised game against Reading so far this season (when I thought we played pretty well, probably unlucky not to get the 3 points, and surely would have done if Ulloa could have kept himself on the pitch); so it's impossible for me to comment on performances. Will be very interesting to see the match-up with Watford in 9 days time.

I can't see how you can say this. He plays a bad tactical game, seems incapable of inspiring a team, is montone and passionless to a fault and has no experience at this level. How do you think he will somehow miraculously change into this " super manager " ?

Are you basing your oinion on every game this season, or just the home games that you attend?
Are you a knowlegable football pundit or a badged football coach, that has been in the professional football game for 30 years?
Did you play for Barcelona?
Could you go on Spanish TV and appear passionate and non monotone less?

You do post some absolute Bollox
