They could dump them where ever they like. Pay Rwanda to take them. That is the point I am making. What happens if extreme left come in and round up the right wingers to deport them?
Fantasy land. Equally as unlikely but theoretically possible that the ECHR signatories all get far right governments and decide that the death penalty is no longer a red line. There's a mechanism to do virtually everything however unlikely that would be.

If they're going to do that, how would being a signatory to the ECHR stop them? They could opt out just as we could now.

No, obviously not. I don't share your opinion that there were no human rights in this country until the ECHR was formed, and frankly, I don't see how that position is remotely tenable.

What I want to take away is some more of criminal's rights. Specifically, if we have granted them a provisional right to stay in this country, and they abuse that right, then I want us to take it away again. If they want to be able to commit rape AND to stay in this country, then tough. They can't have both.

Obviously a British subject would still have the right to live in this country regardless of how many rapes he commits. It's only the foreign rapists who could suffer in that way.
Individual cases can always be emotive, but as a rule of thumb we don't generally send people back to countries where they might be killed, whatever crimes they have committed in this country! Something about common decency. I guess it's similar reasons as to why we did away with the death penalty, while others maintain it...

Why would you want to treat a British rapist differently to a foreign one? Surely, you also need to change the law so we can deport all rapists regardless of which country they were born in?

I mean, I'm assuming it's the rape you're taking issue with here, not where they come from...

I would love to deport our own home-grown rapists as well. But we can't.

But we can at least get rid of as many as possible.

We used to send our convicts to Australia but that didn’t stop crime.

I find if baffling why Mr Bumley is still clinging to his spade and digging.
Despite putting him on ignore I can still see soil flying through the air.

Well, I think it's soil....

Great British sex offenders innit ?

God luv 'em.

Are you, have you ever been or are you intending to be a parody account ?

What a plum.

I do wonder what makes an extreme right wing Burnley supporter think 'where would be the best place to go and convince people of my political views ?

Contrary to received wisdom on here, I believe that the Tories are as left wing as they have ever been. They tax more than any Labour government since Attlee, they spend ditto, they believe in immigration at levels far above any previous government of any hue. They believe in accepting EU legislation when they don't have to, they believe that criminals should not be sent to jail and should be released as early as possible if they are, they are opposed to private landlords (and by extension private tenants), and they appear to believe that all problems can be solved by more government intervention.

They need to move right, not left. They won't win votes with a policy of being just like Labour or Liberals.

A football forum from The People's republic of Brighton and Hove, that's where I'll start, even though I never post anything about football

Possibly no triple lock for pensioners

"Nigel Farage has refused to commit to keeping the pensions triple lock in place if he wins the next election, even as he unveiled a series of expensive tax cuts without fully explaining how his party would pay for them."

https://www.theguardian.com/politic...pensions-triple-lock-if-he-wins-next-election

Nearer the GE he will promise it, to chase the vast OAP or near OAP vote. If he doesn’t, in the 6 week campaign he’ll be torn to shreds.
