Every British GE has always been won from the centre, same as the one last year, and If the far right win a GE in Britain it'll be because we deserve it :shootself

"Toute nation a le gouvernement qu'elle mérite."

Although, if you're going to troll, making out that you are so stupid that other posters actually believe you may be a genuine Reform supporter is genius
No need for the insults.

Would you describe Boris Johnson's government as a central party when the main point was to leave the EU?

Not sure that takes into account the decommissioning / waste storage costs? My father-in-law worked on Trident and at Dounreay. He said that back in the 1950s / 1960s they didn't tend to worry about the end product and radiation too much as they were sure something would come along to solve that problem. He now says he's concerned for his grand-children as 70 years later, we still have no real idea what to do with it.

How could the far right win a GE in Britain? There isn't a far right party....is there?

They don't it being pointed out. I think they may be soft and woke.
I often see (on various online forums) the claim being made that many people vote for Reform/Farage because they don't like being told they're thick. That insulting them drives them into the arms of the Hard Right.

"Some anonymous online liberal insulted my intelligence, so I'm going to vote for Reform." Kinda proves the point about the stupidity of some of them.

We are not supposed to question their intelligence or upset them - poor likkle snowflakes - but 'Remoaners', liberals and Lefties have suffered a decade of far worse abuse and sometimes physical threats ("we know where you live/work.") from Brexiters and Farage fan-boys. I certainly have, but will never allow these ignorant ****s to intimidate or bully me into silence.

As always, the Hard Right love dishing out the abuse and insults, but can't take it back. They demand respect for their views and opinions, but don't show any towards those who disagree with them.

Labour need to listen. They have a tendency to not listen. All parties do, but Labour are punished for it far more than the Tories.

By this, I mean Gordon Brown’s “ignorant woman” comment. I mean saying “we’re listening” isn’t the same as actually changing policy to appease voters.

They’ve had a kicking in the council elections. It’s not the end of the world. The main thing is not to go down the path again of “we’re right, you’re wrong”, because they simply don’t have the popular support to do that.

It’s one thing taking the moral high ground and giving platitudes to dissenters, it’s another to actually convince people with actions why they’re a better option than Reform.

Politics is the art of the possible. They needn’t shift further right to compete with Reform, they need to listen to the primary concerns of voters they’re losing and address them head on.
I agree with you up to appoint.
We have always been told that elections are won on the back of where the swing voters go.
There is no point ditching policy to appease people who would never vote for you anyway.

I remember a (white ) working class former Laour voter telling me more than 25 years ago he wouldn't vote
Labour again because they have betrayed the (white) working class.
Labour will never get his vote back, and it will have gone Tory and now Reform.

So who are the swing voters?

In fact, some like to play the ‘victim’, like Yaxley-Lennon.

It was bigoted woman and he was right. The problem is that the press made a meal of it.

And then he went cap in hand to apologize, with the TV crews in tow.
Never apologize when you're right, unless to mollify a fool. And do that in private.

I get somewhat tired of all this "Labour don't care about my hurty feelings" nonsense.
Do the right thing, explain why you're doing it, crack on.

That, after all, is what Reform are trying to do (albeit with a different agenda).
Does anyone think Reform would get more votes by being more inclusive,
more respectful to minorities, supportive of people who work in social services, and suchlike?

Mark my words, if Labour carry on the everything’s fine, we deserve to win because we’re right mantra, they will lose.

This is something Corbyn supporters never, ever got and still don’t get.

It’s all a bit of a sport excuse

“People in power are manipulating us”

No, you’re thick and racist so you voted for a thick racist party.

Take some f***ing responsibility.

We’ve got over 4 years to go till the next GE, Will Farage win the popular press over or will they do a hatchett job on him, making him unelectable?

When people from the far right get elected, maybe the people will realise they don’t actually like what they do……irrespective of what the press says or does.
we shall see.

the new mayor in Lincolnshire has made an impressive start saying she is going to get rid of all the authorities equality, diversity and inclusion officers, or something along those lines. She is showing her ignorance because they don’t have any, apparently!

I think she’s the one who gave a speech as if she were Nelson Mandela. Claiming all sorts of hardship to victory.
