Thing is, hoofball as practised by most English managers is only successful up to a point (about league 1) which is why with the odd exception they aren't top of the list for clubs trying to play the way we do.

Most teams promoted to the prem are managed by Brits

I would imagine most relegated teams are too.

How many English (or British) managers could have taken over at the Albion and continued Gus's style of play? I can think of one.

Justin Edinburgh?

That's him.

Actually I remember him being a bit of a nonentity as a player, where he was carried by his far superior teammates, so he presumably has a bit of an inferiority complex which in his case is entirely justified.

My thoughts on Edinburgh as a player are the same, although it might also be argued that Garcia as a Barca player wasn't as one of the most illustrious within the side.

The article seems to make a mountain out of a molehill.

The actual quotes all seem reasonable, but it's built up into something far bigger. Ignore it, the word "blasts" is used by journos far too often to have any meaning.
