I acknowledge that Dobbie was a panic buy, but he also made plenty of excellent signings (Kusz, Upson, Bridge, Orlandi, Lopez, Ulloa), didn't he Kev?

Yes he did make some good signings, but then if you throw enough shite, some of it is going to stick lol.....Everyone there you listed was probably planned over a while. He also dropped quite a few bombs didn't he Mellotron?,,,Harley/ Dobbie/ Lualua(in as much as he never played him), Vicente(great player, but ultimately a waste of funds), Hoskins, Cms(so a lot of people think, I still think he will come good but not under Poyet....THREE MILLION!!!),Holroyd, Sandaza, Paynter, Razak,,,,there's loads of dross he bought(and loaned).....anyway onwards and upwards. I will concede Poyet signed some good players(that was his job), if you concede he wasted a shite load of cash at the same time.

Yeah but there all shit
CHAMAKH on the verge of signing FFs I'd rather have Billy Painter than CHAMAKH,(14 goals in 70 apps) 3 goals in the last 3 prem seasons complete misfit at Arsenal & West ham

Snigger. I've just seen this tweet which made me chuckle, it's from The Sun's Dream Team League

I can't embed the tweet but this is what it says.

We looked at creating at £0.5m price bracket for him but it was too complicated, so for now Marouane Chamakh will cost you £1m

People still going on about us not signing Wayne Bridge should realize that according to various sites he is on between £30k and £40k per week. This is a drop for him from when he negotiated his £90k per week with Man City, at the time he was 2nd best left back in England, but it is a lot more than the contribution we were said to be paying. He has obviously gone to Reading for a last bumper pay package and will probably either retire after this season or go to USA and play if the Saturdays make it over there.

Also bought toby for £200k if Terry Butcher is to be believed.

I would be inclined to take that with a large pinch of salt. On the day that he signed for us, the official website stated it was an "undisclosed nominal fee". The Argus reported the fee as 15k (and the next day, reported the fee as "about 25k... with a 15% sell-on").

I think either Terry Butcher (or the Herald, which reported his comments) added an extra 0 by mistake.

Here's hoping you are right!

I can only presume Oscar is talking to his agent and Pep right NOW about some Bayern Munich reserves. You heard it here first.

Hoping for some cloak and dagger signings as soon as possible. There is a need for a pacey winger/striker and a full-back or two.

I would think hoping for 3 signings is a little ambitious. Not that I am in the know but I would think that we will get a a full back/pacy centre back on a long loan and possibly a goal poacher type striker on a short loan to cover until CMS is back or otherwise.
