£60m got to be basically a deposit, no?
I think £60m is just about ok. We want the deal done asap and don’t want to make it hard for Mac. Like the White & Tross deals, we’ve made the player affordable for his desired club. That’s fine by me because it’s £50m profit for us and we have the likes of Gilmour, Joao Pedro and Dahoud to compete for his place.

We'll never accurately know the fee. We all guessed it would be in the £70m region, so it could be £60m with other adds on...

The question is, would we have thought £60-£70m was too low prior to the World Cup when he signed the contract? Probably not.

I have no issue with it. You can't compare transfer fee's to anything Chelsea have been involved with as we saw with Cucurella, they're ridiculous.

It's still £20/£30m more than Leicester will be getting for England internationals Maddison and Barnes and by all accounts, Palhinha of Fulham who is equally as impressive as Mac Allister is being linked with £50m moves.

People may think we absolutely would not do x y z - and Tony Bloom is an excellent businessman. He knows you need to negotiate and change stance sometimes and I’m very sure he wouldn’t let a £60M asset walk away for free / very little just because he doesn’t want an agreement or some kind of clause being requested by a player.

I love the experts on here. If there is a release clause that they think is too low then consider whether he would have extended contract without it. Had the contract not been extended then would he be worth the release clause? I would say no. So it is the best we could have got isn’t it?

As if any of us actually thought he would be the pivotal player in a World Cup win scoring a crucial goal and being outstanding in the final.

Think our ‘exit fees’ are too low.

Enzo at Chelsea isn’t 40 million better than Alexis
Chelsea paid well over the odds for Enzo because well they're Chelsea, other teams were taking advantage of their wealth, and they chased the player the whole transfer window eventually having to just pay a ridiculous fee or miss out completely. Another club looking to buy Enzo this summer and it would have been much less.

Or is that how we managed to get MacA to sign his last contract?
Correct. That fee has to be agreed on both sides. Much higher and he doesnt sign the contract. Also, it was pre World Cup when £65m (if thats what it is) probably felt about right, and still isnt far off. I would have guessed a sale at around the £70m mark.

FR guessing & chatting shit as always.
We never have a release clause.
He himself said a few weeks back that there isnt a 'release clause' as such in Mac's contract, as in a set figure, but there is 'a mechanism that could help make the move happen' whatever that means. The Argus have also yesterday said that currently nothing is going on regarding Mac or Moises. My feeling is that maybe player terms have been agreed or close, but agreeing a fee with Tony and that side of things is all bullshit from Fabrizio etc.

Hopefully similar to the Cuc deal where according to FR it was a done deal for 35 million and personal terms agreed. Then we got almost double.

He's chatting shit when he say he knows what the Albion are thinking or doing. We give nothing away. Romano is fed by the agents, some of which will be true, some of which will be agitation hoping to push a deal along at the behest of his client sources.
