Leon still stropping out

What so Knight playing on the wing, in central midfield or with his back to goal, as instructed by the manager is the reason for us losing all those games.

Good one.

But you know full well that Knight was played out of position in very few games, a few last season on the wing (where he was so unproductive that this experiment was abandoned) and a tiny handful in midfield at the beginning of this (where he did OK). Together, I doubt if we are talking more than 8 games out of the 60+?

What I would be interested to see is those 27 (or so) goals he scored in first season, the break down of those scored in open play to penalties and how many in open play were scored whilst Coppell was here and how many were under McGhee.

Do you apply that same argument to Zamora?
Everyone looks back on his time with affection, and no-one here is split on whether he should have gone or not. We all knew he would be destined for the big time, and everyone wishes him well. Everyone would want him back, but in the real world it ain't gonna happen.

We had our time with him for three and a bit years, and he moved on and we moved on. Thankfully, we found a gifted goalscorer to replace him, but someone who came with an awful lot of emotional baggage.

Similarly, no-one is using Bobby Zamora as a stick to beat any managers with.

So the short answer is no.

Thanks for clearing that up and can't say I disagree with a word of it. Proves though that one is not necessarily a sad bastard for wishing we still had a player that has left. I always prefer your posts when they're less vitriolic as the arguments are stronger for it. Poor old Richie must really make you apoplectic!

I'm frankly staggered it's half an hour and we haven't made page 2 yet
Didn't take long though did it.

A very eco-friendly thread though, 100% recycled.

I think thats up there with the plonker that said he is a prick because he dared to watch his goal in the play off fianl again

Your love for Leon Knight knows no bounds does it? You call me a plonker for reporting what I saw?

I said he was watching his goal-BY HIMSELF-with a bunch of the younger players taking the piss (behind his back) because nobody else wanted to be there with him. What part of that is difficult for you to understand? HE WAS ON HIS OWN. Understand? Mr Popular within the club he wasn't. Is that difficult for you to come to terms with?

I WAS there, it happened and spoke volumes of how popular he was with his peers. Even after he scored the PENALTY that took us up he was being ridiculed by the youth squad.

Still, you continue your hero worship if you want...

I remember someone telling me they saw Charlie Oatway out once and asked him what he thought about Leon Knight and Oatway turned around and said "Hes a Cxxt".

If true it sums it up really.

The guy has scored 2 goals in his last 11 league appearances for Swansea. Thats a shit record even in Div 1.

Ok I guess he did get a hat trick on his debut against a side that will be relegated to the conference next season but the bloke is imploding. I cant see him ever rising above the standard he is at.

Still second top scorer months after he left.
So what the f*** does that prove. Oh yeah, we didn't score many when Knight was here, and we still we don't score many.

Leon Knight's attitude was gash and he has failed to fulfill his potential whereever he's been. Only Steve Coppell - one of the best managers in the game IMO - has got anything out of him throughout his whole career. It's a shame that the likes of you and Morris (who yet again is talking like a total cretin) can't admit you are wrong on this one.
