How about the manager acting like a spoilt brat?

I haven't seen that.

I have seen the manager react to appalling personal abuse - which i would guess that he probably regrets after the heat of the moment. - this is a regretteble situation but i won't condemn him for it. Give me another example of McGhee acting like a "spoilt brat" - as much as i appreciate Leon's contribution to our promotion season, there were examples of his petulance almost weekly.

other than that I have only ever perceived McGhee as a manager exemplifying uncompromised commitment to the club both on and off the pitch, in the face of a fair amount of adversity

If McGhee knew how to handle Leon we would be MID table by now.

True, he's an absolute genius. Its not like any decent striker, whatever the managers faults, should have scored any more than he did last year.

I thought you had been harping on about how we didn't need just one other player, but a left back, midfielder etc. etc.

If he had not changed Leon from a confident striker who THRIVED on playing with freedom, expression and a touch of arrogance - hanging off the last shoulder of defenders - into a centre forward who played with his back to goal, got shifted around, hardly ever paired with the same partner and got the crap kicked out of him every game then we would be SAFE.

If Leon had been doing the business week in week out and scoring goals i'm sure McGhee would have put up with his attitude

This is what I fail to understand. How you can compare League One Leon to Championship Leon. What changed over 2 months summer holiday?

Don't get me wrong. He had bags of talent, but is wasting it. I would love to see a goal scoring Leon, but what we saw was a guy on a decent/one of the best wages? turning up late and disrespecting the team, manager and fans.

I don't remember seeing him bust a gut for the cause. If he is that good, you can't be coached poorly enough to damage the player. What happened to the Leon that banged in all those goals for McGhee?

Answer: Arrogance, lack of passion, obnoxious, money driven.

Anyway, goodnight NSC.

You can have the way you play changed.

Coppel knew how to handle him and more importantly how to use him.

Hence his goals dried up from open play when McGhee took over.

But Coppell certainly didn't want him when we were trying to get rid of the useless waster, did he? :smokin:

with how many? i'm not gonna look it up, but he was hardly setting the world alight and was getting progressively worse.

add to the fact he was increasingly behaving like a prick.

Still think we'd be better off with him, even with the emotional baggage, we're not really in a position to be off loading top players, and Leon is one, still doesnt matter we've got Lots of other strikers, how many have they scored?
